In this episode, we fit a new Milltek exhaust system to Jack's MK8 Volkswagen Golf R, not only making it sound better, but look better too! The question is... Does a new exhaust give any performance gains?

@@castle7522 great question - usually when I've been in the car we're just listening to the exhaust ;) So I have no personal experience of the speakers. We'll put it to Jack though and see what he thinks as it's his daily.

Why are the pops and bangs so much louder with the milltek over the standard ?

Lovely car. Are you looking at taking it to the track? I have a 2009 gen1 TSI Octavia track car and with a serious amount of steering upgrades its not too bad. Funny this popped up though as my Six month old Sealey Rocket lift jack normally comes with me to the track but Demon Tweeks have kept it 🙈 Maybe you need the money for the mk8? 🤣

what does gpf stand for and is it the same as a cutback exhaust? i want it but does this remove the catalytic converter?

Hi, There's no computer tuning or remap on this. The results are from changing the exhaust and filter.

How drone-y is the non-res Milltek?

The exhaust is loud when you want it to be, but not droney - we had someone in the back for a long journey and they agree. This is what Milltek state "All of our systems endure a comprehensive acoustic development process to deliver a tone that’s sporty and crisp, without ever inducing NVH, drone or cabin resonance”
