Milwaukee 2767-20 H96B design fail made right!!

mulwaukee quietly made a design change in August to the high torque impact wrench 1/2 inch drive Friction Ring 2767 and it did not stand up to the quality of the h96a versions so they are reverting back and taking the new design off the market

Just ordered 2767-20 from ACME and received an H96B serial number. I thought these were all pulled OFF the market? ACME hadn't heard about this and told me they are contacting their Milwaukee rep. They did send me a pre-paid return label but couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't get the bad serial number if I reordered. What's that? (Just look at the box). They promised to call me back with more info. I'll keep you posted if they reply.

Interesting yes they were all supposed to be pulled from stock but possibly acme had a bunch in warehouse

its the first digits in the serial number

Just received a call from Angie at ACME. After speaking with the Milwaukee rep Kurt, Milwaukee will directly ship me the correct serial number unit! Less than an hour with my reply - needless to say I'm VERY impressed with their customer service. Cudos to ACME! I hope this shakes things up for online retailers in volunteering to get ahead of this and NOT ship H96B units.

I have opportunity to buy a used H96B for very cheap. Now I understand the warranty isn't transferable? Should I go for it? If it blows up on me, I don't think it will be covered for a replacement because I won't be the original owner.

The tool has a 5 year warranty

as of november 2022 no affected impacts should be in stores and the 2863 never got the poor design update
