If you look carefully (although it was hopefully edited out) I was wearing a Makita XGT shirt in some of the shots. Most of my clothing has Tool branding on it these days and I try and wear the right brand for each video... but sometimes I forget.

@@patbird9694I don't even run Makita, but I still come to see how their tools are performing. If I were to invest in another platform, it would definitely be XGT. With their dual battery 80v tools, I think they've hit the sweet spot. Milwaukee MX is just a battery platform most can't get into.

@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIALI'd be interested to hear if you have had any issues with the XGT 4ah batteries failing. The Milwaukee 8ah and 12ah high output which use the 4ah 21700 cells have been failing at an alarming rate and my Hikoki 4/8ah battery using 4ah 21700 cells has just been taken in for warranty. Batteries basically come off the charger and only have 2 or 3 bars.

Could you put some reflective tape in the cooling fan and attach your tacho so it picks up the fan/motor RPM? I wonder if the forge is delivering higher input RPM, but that's resulting in lower output RPM from the hammer not striking the anvil properly.

I like the size of the Forge 6.0, the 6” grinder which is the tool I need the power on really likes the extra voltage, and I think going forward the new high torque tools will do better with tab-less or Pouch since they will make the most of the output

I usually use an 8 HO battery with my grinder but I got the Forge recently so I tried it out yesterday. The Forge didn't seem to last quite as long as the 8. I like the 8 HO and got them on sale where it was cheaper than the 6 HO and it's the same size. Right now it looks like Milwaukee is trying to get rid of the 6 HO. They're on sale for $148 Canadian. I finally got that track saw a couple weeks ago and it came with a 'FREE' 6 HO. Love that saw but I bet it would work better with the red tracks.

yes 8 will last longer then the 6 . but you should notice an increase in power with both 6 over the 8 .not a big deal for most applications .

Like You I was a fan of the 8.0 HO battery, but recently had a couple only get to 3 bars, and the charger light went green. Milwaukee wont warranty them, or admit there is a problem with these batteries. I have since seen a lot of comments/ complaints on online forums, of the ‘three bar’ syndrome. Battery wont last long, and then only charge to three bars. I have seen a lot of 8.0 HO batteries being offered as a bonus to kits on Home Depot. The 6.0 HO is indeed a better battery. I’m a fan of Milwaukee, but not the M18 battery’s and latches. Peace

Be interesting to see this sort of test with the 5/16” (or similar) impact driver. The couplings on the impct wrench reduce the torque. My td173 has more power driving a batten screw than my dtw300 which states it has 300nm compared to 185nm.

I must have missed that video. Another wet weekend ahead, so I have a good excuse to binge watch your channel. Glad that socket held up. The track saw results were interesting.
