Simple fix for movement on the edge guide - give it a good wack with a hammer and the tangs will be closer so it forms a wedge on the base to prevent rocking.

Spot on for two issues: gap in the dust collector and loose edge guide. What was the designer thinking? Did he/she try it? Tightening the holding screw totate the edhe guide. I use the M6 cam lock to solve the problem KIPP K0006.1511406X20 Cam Lever. Its cam lever matchs the red milwaukee color too.

I love the fact you have the ryobi cordless vacuum there because I picked one up for 79.00 bucks and it works unbelievable and it’s a great machine for the jobs I need it for.. I wasn’t sure about the right cordless router and before I knew it January 30th came and passed and I was going to buy the makita model with 2/ 5.0 batteries and a rapid charger for 199.00 but I really didn’t like it didn’t have a micro adjustment. Craftsman has a nice cordless router for 99.00 bucks but I don’t have any batteries or a charger and when you add those things it’s higher cost than the Milwaukee model. So I guess I should just buy the Milwaukee. Thanks for all your help and recommendations.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this... but where your edge guide attaches to your router, you're missing a piece. There should be a small square plastic piece that fits between the edge guide and the screw. It doesn't sound like much. But it helps the edge guide stay in place.

I pulled the trigger yesterday mostly because I had a 10.00 dollars off if I spend anything over 100 in store purchases at the depot. I had a couple gift cards from my birthday and Christmas gifts I bought the Milwaukee fuel router tool only for 29.12 out of pocket for the balance and taxes. It fits perfectly and I have several 3.0 high output batteries to keep the weight down.

If I didn't already have a few routers I would be more interested in picking this up. The cordless flexibility definitely has its appeal. However with the battery being directly on the top and the base plate being so small, it really looks like it has a tendency to wobble. The increased likelihood of ruining your workpiece kind of cancels out the benefit of the cordless feature. I guess you could put a bigger base plate on it but considering the price and no battery means I'm going to hold off on this one.

I see no reason, If the dust shield it rattling around, you can’t put a rubber band. Also the edge guide, maybe pinch the top of the edge Mount ears to close the cap slightly in a vise….or…. Drill a hole in the edge guide Mount ear ( drill only one) and tap it for a set screw so it when you tighten in down with the main bolt, the set screw will apply outward pressure hopefully eliminating and guide movement

What a simple mistake for milwaukee to rectify on the edge guide. They are just machining the gap too wide. All they have to do is stop overboring one little slot on it and problem solved. Wonder if the newer models resolved this? Such a dumb thing to mess up and so easy to rectify on their end. I might be picking one up soon and if it still has this problem I may be using the welder to refabricate their error.

I can't see anything while using this thing, especially not with the dust cover on. Feels like anything I do is either blind or I'm sticking my nose inside the housing.

You sent 3 back because the button was to small, did you think the others which were the same model would have a bigger button? 😂
