It’s crazy that the Metabo is still the number one as far as power, speed, control and comfort. I honestly didnt think that would be the case over 3 years later now. But damn Metabo truely does have the ball in this court, as well as with impact drivers and oscillating multi tools. And of course they’re nailers. Honestly they are doing fantastic in just about every category. Especially sub compact, it’s insane having a driver and drill that feel like they could be children’s toys due to the size and weight and then use them and realize how much better they are than the old craftsman huge drills from 10 or 15 years ago. My dad still has one of those drills and he is blown away by my tools. He doesn’t understand how he can be using one all day and the battery doesn’t drop a bar, and if it did under very heavy use it would only take about an hour to charge from zero to full. Things have come so far in such little time. That’s why it’s so nice to see something like the Metabo HPT 36v UVP blow everything else out of the water. And you think wow this thing is like 5 years old soon. And the other company’s are only now in 2024 just catching up to making something as well made as the Metabo Recip saw. But if you look, you will notice that the only brands are simply giving in and copying the design as close they can. Which is something they should have done from the start. Even with that you still can’t beat the Metabo. Especially in the 36V category, he’ll even the 40v.

IMHO, these are not home owner units. Ryobi is probably the worst for home owner vibs. Milwaukee is probably where to be, just buy the model that is NOT the FUEL. That one will be priced right for you and give you all the power you need to do stuff around your home.

Reynaldo Valle I’ve got two of the Metabo HPT’s and have run the old Flexvolt and the Fuel Super sawzall. The Metabo HPT in my eyes jus barely beats out the Milwaukee, but its close enough to where if you are already on the platform, go with the one you’re already on. Makita’s LXT X2 top of the line Recip has great vibration control as well. If I rated the 4 based on my experience I’d say team teal for 1st, team green 2nd best vibration, team red for third and team yellow for 4th.

I have a Bosch GSA 18v-32 which I think is decent, but the Metabo HPT is much more powerful! At the end of it all you really got to think about weight vs power. @WorkshopAddict4 жыл бұрын
Helps to cut wood faster by moving the blade is somewhat of a circular fashion. Same logic behind the curved blades you can buy.
@raminieminen29554 жыл бұрын
I never care for orbital action in recip saws, as I find to make the tool vibrate a lot more, therefore making it more difficult to control. I think these kind of tests should also include cutting steel as it is more solid material than wood which has all the knots and twists in it. I have the old DeWalt DCS380 and I am happy with it. I just bought a new one after using my first one for five years and then donating it, with my old cordless drill and a cordless grinder and some batteries, to my volunteer fire department. I like that model so much because it weighs way less than any of the models tested here, and it has all the power I need for a recip saw. The only things missing are a brushless motor and anti vibration.

The smoothest operation of almost any recip saw is the older Ridgid GenX-4. When I demonstrate Milwaukee Fuel VS Ridgid GenX-4 everyone is shocked by how much quieter, smoother and so much less vibration with the Ridgid. Milwaukee fuel by comparison almost vibrates out of your hands and is so noisy you need hearing protection. With tools the excess noise and vibration is wasted energy, sucking the battery down faster.

Like the circ saw test. We see what we need to see. All good saws. Metabo looks to be every bit as good a saw, if not better than the Milwaukee. Can't see 2 seconds here or there being a big deal. If time is that critical, get a chainsaw for the 6x6 and larger. Pruning blades in big stuff helps too. Deep cuts need deep gullets. With regular blades, chip removal rears its ugly head and can nearly stop them cold if you don't ease up or rock it just right. Especially in that sappy heart wood. None of these are so much better to justify going "out of battery platform" to get IMHO. Odd that Dewalt hasn't got oscillating mode, though. Saw worked fine regardless. And the test looked righteous. Good video!
