It's a real shame that Tampa wasn't able to keep Lorenzo Neal around for more than a season. He's probably the best blocking FB of all time...yet somehow didn't make a Pro Bowl until he was 32. Luckily for him, he stuck around into his late 30's and finally got some recognition late in his career. That jumbo backfield with Alstott/Neal had the potential to be really nasty. Sending 2 battering rams right up the gut 20+ times a game would have been hell on a defense. You could tell that they had a tag-team/bash brothers attitude about themselves too.

That 98 Vikings offense was still old school having only 2 WRs every down; but if its Chris Carter and Randy Moss its a lot of trouble! And a Run game to mess with your Tampa 2 safeties deep that could theoretically double both on the edge. And leaves 3 LBs to cover a RB and 2 TEs. Only the Bucs were equipped to handle this.

We were robbed from a SB that should've been.... Vikings broncos would've been epic. I remember anticipating that matchup but we got a slop sb instead. What I noticed in both Vikings losses that year was they stopped passing down the field and got way too conservative. Denny green was known for that. This game, the bucs ran over the Vikings defense.... Amazing. I would've loved to have seen two matchups.... This Vikings team vs the undefeated Patriots and the 99 Rams vs the Peyton colts their championship year. Those teams played very similar to each other hence those matchups.
