Dig the alternative section of the video. Showing the actual alternatives helps a lot, rather than just talking about it from the ether.

Nice review.. 👍🏻😃. Great bag. I own the first version of Minnal travel bag, definitely a lot of improvements compared to mine. I had many EDC or daily bags and I travel via public transport often. Easy access to my small important daily items matters a lot from the moment I step out to my house to my destination, my activities and back home. Some personal points for this bag.. First.. the secret or conceal compartment personally too small for me.. I expect this compartment to store not only passport and boarding pass but wallets, smartphone, keys, work ID and Bluetooth earphones. These items are more important to me and I would prefer a compartment to be able to hold them for security reasons and easy access. Also be good if it can be access from both sides left and right. Second.. be good if they can provide external water bottle pockets which can be kept or zip off.. I personally don't prefer to store my water bottle in the interior of the bag together with my gears, clothings or accessories in case of the failure of the water caps. Third.. be good if this bag can stand on it's own even when empty. Fourth.. 21L can't hold much for me. 25L makes more sense to me as a reasonable daily or EDC carry. I won't be filling up the bag max till it's Max capacity as access to most other compartments will be restricted and make access of items difficult.. some free space in the bag will be good. Above mention points are just my personal expectations for functionality before I start consider spending on the products. Generally I like the clamshell opening for easy packing and the 2 sided configuration laptop access. Also the raincover are good too.

Epic stuff - thanks for the comment!

I would say that this backpack took a slight inspiration from the Senterlan backpacks with the rainfly at the bottom and sternum strap, funny thing is that it's a little challenging to find a Senterlan. I've had mine for about 3 years now and it hasn't failed me lol.
@Nomads.Nation3 жыл бұрын
Never heard of Senterlan before but you've certainly peaked my interest - thanks for the comment Peter!

I like the design but the interior should have alternate colors for better visibility IMO. I went for the Aer City Pack which made for more sense design and functionality. Great vid like always, greetings from Miami.

Thanks for yet another excellent review. I really like everything about this bag except the internal water bottle pocket only. Unfortunately, that is a dealbreaker for me. I would much rather have less than 270° degree access and have a nice water bottle pocket that can handle a little larger bottle on the outside. That’s just me. Otherwise, it’s quite nice. One more thing I wish it had was some brighter hi vis colors inside though. For that price, I think that’s a must as well.

Agreed that both the points (water bottle pocket and internal colors) are not ideal - but for me personally they aren't dealbreakers

Needs back and handle padding. Must be able to hold a modern water bottle like a yeti or hydroflask. Do you guys have these water bottles? Would love to send you one to test in the bags. Also, great work on the alternatives!
@Nomads.Nation3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Kevin! And agreed on the back padding - especially at this price point. And yes, we do have a Hydroflask, we just forget to use it on our shoots sometimes lol

Yo, I just found your channel, I was surprised when it said you uploaded 30 minutes ago because I was watching a bit of your AER reviews. Do you know what would be the best kind of backpacks for putting binders and folders in for uni? My brother also showed me that he has this thing that he puts his laptop in, then puts it in his backpack and that thing has a zipper in the corner, allowing you to charge your laptop. Do you know what thats called?

I think the second thing is called an aer folio? maybe?

Take a look at the Hex Brand Ranger backpacks. They use a 270º zip access with just two zippers. Great looking backpack but a couple of serious flaws that prevented me from using it as my daily. I use it on special occasions where cameras or drones are required however.

Thanks for the comment Dan! And I've never heard of Hex Brand Ranger but I've added them to our to-shoot list :)

@@Nomads.Nation it’s a great small camera-bag focused company. Lots of different products and a great design team. The Hex Ranger Clamshell is one of the best looking backpacks out there IMO.

Great review, I'm wondering how flat it is when empty? Just bought the minaal 3.0 carry on and want to get this to keep inside for a daypack. Is it a good fit?
@Nomads.Nation2 жыл бұрын
That’s a question best asked for minaal - please let us know what they say!

Minaal’s website description of this bag shows it packing up very flat, and fitting inside their carry on.

It’s strange, cuz I do think it’s a bit overpriced in terms of materials… yet it’s still one of my top 2 travel bags… if not #1. It just feels so streamlined and light that I think that the extra costs are worth it cuz they made something truly special
