If you watch Pekora's stream. According to Pekora: Aqua has planned her graduation a while ago, all the Holo members already informed about this. That is why Pekora has been doing intense collabs (Hardcore Minecraft, Holo ARK) with everyone so Aqua can have fun and make good memories. Also hoping Aqua will changed her mind about graduating, maybe like a small chance. It seems Aqua resolution is pretty strong.

Aqua Minato graduating kinda shot a hole in my heart as she was one of the first VTubers I grew attached to. I adored her introverted yet talented personality as well her design. Aqua is very popular, I wonder if the Creative Differences is something along the lines offers or jobs she can't fully commit to while under hololives contract. Such as long term VA or singing gigs. It could also just be a desire to just decrease her work load and commitments after 5+ years while Hololive is the middle of a growth period. We saw with Aki that the OGs care enough about the company that they'd feel guilty if they don't think they're contributing enough and would consider graduating rather than potentially dragging others down.

I dont understand JP which is why i dont watch aqua often but i loved her clips. Im not that old of a fan but i loved seeing her clips from back then to where i became a fan, to present time now. She has had probably the most character development in anyone in Hololive next to pekora. Which is ironic. She was a super shy introvert who streamed to herself but slowly and gradually thanks to the help of marine and suisei. Became more and more socialable. Watching her was like watching your shy daughter grow up in front of you. She even became friendly with the 3rd most introverted holo member, pekora. Which is also another grand development if you think about it.

Minato Aqua is probably one of the best singers and dancers in the entirety of Hololive. She had the best hipsway (in reference watch the dance she had with Gura and Marine), and had a lot of singing concerts. However, what people forget is that the onion has always been more of a gamer. With hololive's creative going more into live concerts you can only imagine how much time this demands of their talents. They have to do singing practices, dance practices, choreographies, recordings, promotions and other stuff that don't necessarily have anything to do with playing games. As a gamer, I can understand that someone as young as the onion would feel tired of doing these things and not be able to play more. I just wish her the best in whatever she decides to do next.

Not to mention the fact that Aqua has always been more introverted. It would not surprise me at all if pushing for things to go more and more towards the idol side has started to wear away at her and overwhelm her. She's an amazing onion, and has always given her best. Now, it's just time for her to start another chapter in her life. I would not be surprised if she comes back as an indie Vtuber down the line focusing more on games, with the occasional song release. To me, that would be the best outcome.

Idol agency is what Hololive aim from the start, go watch Sora story about how it is created. All the Talent knows what they sign up to. as Hololive growing and reaching other continent due to overseas demand, some talent might have cold feet and this made them to assess their decision either to stay or graduate. Aqua is introvert but if you really watch her streaming, she like being an Idol but as things going too big, she decided to graduate. So no one at fault!

Saw someone mention gaming as something she did, but in the long list of achievements that she is recognized for... not much along those lines is in there. So I can totally see that being a reason if she wanted to do more with competitive gaming but was being tasked with idol roles instead. It's possible Dokibird was an inspiration for there being other possibilities if she wanted to do more gaming as a Vtuber. But I'm not a fan of either, so I'll just keep my mouth shut here

I've learned about Hololive after playing Aqua's solo in D4DJ (global version still has Palette playable and is very popular in coop). Many Hololive collabs with D4DJ pushed me to research them on KZbin, and now I know a lot about VTubers and watch a lot of clips, welcomed many debuts and graduations. Weird to see Aqua leave, she always seemed like a perfect fit for Hololive. The only reason I could think of is that she wants to do more gaming or music and will go to an agency focuses on one or the other. For example if she wants to focus on gaming she could go to VSPO without the distraction of all the idol stuff Hololive wants out of her. Or in the reverse, she wants to do more music and switches to a label deal and concentrate on music, while only playing games in private. Otherwise, I can't really think of differences that Hololive couldn't accommodate to keep a talent like Aqua.

I think people speculate too much about this. Sometimes people just want to do different things that they can't do under a contract so they move on. This happens all the time in every company. When you can't get what makes you happy than you leave and try your luck somewhere else. Like Aqua said, there are creatively differences. Hololive became stricter and you can't do things as freely as it was a few years ago. Its sad that she is leaving but sometimes there isn't a bigger reason, drama or a fight that caused that, sometimes people just move on to different companies/careers. This shows especially because they give her a proper and well thought through goodbye. Everything ends one day, nothing last forever. Support her till the end and send her a well deserved farewell.

Lets be honest, online personas older than 6 years tend to reach a slippery slope. Many content creators either fall into dark places, they fall into being forgotten or they grow stale. I am also sure the same thing can be said about VTubers . Being a Content Creator is just not a job one can do for their whole life, so it is best to find a good point to step out while they havent overstepped like many others have.

I did a back of the envelope calculation at one point and estimated that, if you exclude Mano Aloe who voluntarily left almost immediately, the talent at Hololive were voluntarily graduating at the rate of approximately 1 per 100 work years. They don't get people leaving on their own accord very often, indicative of a workplace where the talent are generally pretty happy.

It's depressing to think about but there's going to be a point where the old guard, the legendary members, start to hand in their notice one by one. We've had very few graduations at the company probably because despite the hard work they don't want to give up on doing a cool thing and working with their friends, but non of them can do it forever, i hope they do all stay around for ages but i'm prepared to see more big names dropping out.

If I were to throw out a theory, we all know how Aqua is super introverted, and I guess since Cover are promoting that even JP Mems are taking part in World Tours, I assume just the idea of touring around that much wouldn't be the most appealing to her.

I personally think that the most make sense reason is that she really wanted to focus more on playing games and just streaming while Hololive wanted to push a bit more on their idol side of things as they're expanding and doing more IRL events and performances especially now that they're having and able to do global scale events

Aqua is an introvert, 6 years may be but who knows, maybe she had enough of those idol activities and not ready to the wider expansion of hololive, at least that's my thought

It's probably more due to simple differences. Cover is doing a lot of concerts and whatnot and less and less gaming streams are popping up outside of new mems. Aqua is a turbo gamer so she probably wants to move to indie so she can play games more, which is totally understandable and If that's the case I can't wait to see her in the next life

Aqua has always been a shy person, with 1-2 new generations debuting every year between the EN and JP branches it has to be hard for someone like Aqua to keep up with. Especially when it comes time for events like HoloFes where everyone with a 3D model is in attendance. Adding 5-10 people to groupwide events like HoloFes each year is just bound to stress out an introvert like Aqua.
