"I think the biggest mistake people make is that they go to the gym and just go through the motions. They don't have their mind inside the muscle. There were guys next to me who trained just as long as I did, but they looked like shit because they didn't concentrate. They did the same exercises that I did, but they weren't paying attention. They didn't know why they were training; they weren't inside their biceps. You have to be inside the muscle." -Arnold Schwarzenegger

I tried my best to imagine my left bicep moving the weight up and down and didn't really mind the right. After I finished with my preacher curls, I noticed my left arm felt a lot more sore than my right. I had never really tried to use mind-muscle connection in my workouts before but when I tried it on the preacher curls, I noticed a big difference. My right arm used to be a lot more sore than my left before I tried mind-muscle connection, but after trying it, I found my left to be more sore than my right.

Its the most important thing during workout, if your biceps aren't lifting the weight instead of your whole arms and other muscles being involved then what good will the workout bring? Go moderate and build mind muscle connection.
@marcopedrosojr.39128 жыл бұрын
I'd love to hear more on going moderate or heavy weight concerning hypertrophy. A lot of people suggest the only way to achieve hypertrophy is to go heavy. You, on the other hand, seem to indicate going moderate weight should bring better results.
@PictureFit8 жыл бұрын
Both can serve hypertrophy as long as progressive overload and volume is optimal. The thing is, moderate intensity tend to allow you to achieve the greatest amount of volume without having to push frequently into failure and takes a shorter amount of time. @PictureFit8 жыл бұрын
You will not gain weight, but having enough protein during a deficit will help with muscle degradation. Since you're at a deficit (1200 is too low imo if you're a male), proteolysis heightens (you lose more muscle tissue) which can be slowed down with proper protein intake.

@rahulharsora41437 жыл бұрын
mind muscle connection would show increased activity because you are focusing on it. and the poundage would naturally drop because you aren't focusing on the task at hand but on activating the targeted muscle. curling or elbow flexion is primarily the work of biceps so whether or not you focus on it, your biceps will work. if you go heavy all the muscle fibres of biceps are forced to work. there is a lot to why this is shit but that's too much to type. mind muscle connection is just complication of very simple things.

Low reps lift the damn thing with good form High reps use proper mmc and control the weight going down. Those are the two keys also when it comes to high reps i like to lift the weight as fast as i can or use rest pause training. Whereas i'll pause then explode up. Many ways to train!

but sometimes you need that progressive overload on the muscles right. so i cant lift every set the same weight and trying to mind muscle connect, i have to try going a bit heavier, so i cant always feel the connection as if i am doing it with a little lighter weight. right? or should i stick to the weight where i feel the connection more. (p.s i do feel the connection a little when lifting heavier but not as much when doing it with some lighter weight)

You will ultimately get stronger which will require a heavier load. By then, your moderate intensity is no longer the same anyway. Progressive overload is needed, but changing the weight isn't the only factor to determine progressive overload.
