Great show. Combining the science and practical evidence and explaining it in a simple way.

Best tip I have for mind muscle connection is doing isometric holds at different positions. I'll hold for 8 to 12 seconds at each position along the movement pattern of whatever exercise. 3 to 5 positions per movement. 3 to 5 sets. You will be amazed how quickly you can learn to recruit muscle fibers from isometrics. Also progress to overcoming isometrics. Start with holds for 2 to 3 weeks then switch to overcoming isometrics for same rep scheme. It will increase strength quickly also

I am fond of isometric holds as well. I practice the MMC with no weights and then gradually start adding a load onto the movement

Absolutely, isometrics are underrated

My hamstrings get sore the next day after RDL’s & with lighter loads I feel the stretch but I never feel the contraction at the top… Glad I’ve seen this episode because I thought I had a good connection due to the soreness

My traps always take over when I do shoulder or back exercises, what to do about that??
@LafeJames3 жыл бұрын
Without knowing specifics, in general, try dropping your shoulders down during those exercises, and focusing on the muscle group you are targeting. Also, you may want to lighten the weight a bit until you can achieve a good mind/muscle connection.
