I found MP about 3 months ago, and I've been hooked ever since. Over the winter, I got sucked into a "weight lifting" program marketed to busy women. It burned me out more than helped me out. Listening to MP, I realized it was a circuit program with weights that always trained to failure. I've now gone back to traditional weight lifting with rest periods, and my life is all the better. I started seeing results again, and my CNS is no longer burned out. My energy is back, and I'm sleeping better. These guys know what they're talking about! Can't thank MP enough! I watch clips and episodes almost every day. The listener questions are gold! So much good learning.

Working out less, eating more and seeing fabulous results thanks to you guys. No more hours and hours of group classes a week, sometimes twice a day all while eating no more than 1800 calories. You guys are the best. Thanks for the consistent reminder of this 🙏🏼

I've been on team "No rest days" for a pretty long time. It's easy to become addicted to progression. Most people don't realize there are more optimal paths to progression. Me included. Thanks mind pump team for another great episode.

I found MP around Oct of 2023 through my coach and I've never looked back. As I've had to leave my coach for financial reasons I've used the knowledge I learned from her as well as you guys to keep me on track. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊

It’s extra hard to have “rest days” when your morning training also assists in not stabbing anyone with a fork later in the day at work 😂.

My son is the exact same way with me. He’s good with dad all day and as soon as I come back … total meltdown. I’m his comfort. I’m his main caregiver. I take the days off when he’s sick. I do school drop offs and pick ups. I’m always there when he gets hurt. My husband is Amazing dad and the provider so he is gone 10 plus hours 5-6 days a week. It makes sense why kids are more emotionally attached to mom for this reason!

I just found you guys this month, bought Muscle Mommy and I'm in my first week and loving it! It was so invigorating after the first workout that I thought "I could do this every day" but follow the lesser days and appreciate your talks on KZbin about only needing a few days a week. THANK YOU for making a great workout program that I can follow, a 56 year old newbie. 💚 My reasoning to start with Muscle Mommy instead of just doing weights by myself at home: on our first camping trip in April, seeing how heavy all my friends are, and so many others, eating way too much and being inactive. I'm vegan so I make my own meals on trips so I don't eat like them and I walk our dogs all the time on trips - but I so wanted to start focusing on "me" and thankfully I stumbled onto you guys and I knew a program from you would help me so much more!

I've cut WAY down on my volume. Now, a full body workout is just two working sets on 4 compound lifts with one for quads, one for hammies/posterior chain, one for upper body push, and one for upper body pull. Then only one set to failure with four isolation exercises. Then, after a total of just 12 sets with full 2-3 min rest periods, I do three rounds of sled pushing for a bit of conditioning and extra leg work. Doing only 15 sets in full body 3x per week feels so much less than what I used to do. But I won't lie, I do feel WAY better day to day, and I am responding to it. 💯

Thank you for all you've taught me and continue to teach myself and others.

Just so easy to over do it when balancing progressive overload and recovery. At 51 , finally realized you need to error of the side of less intensity, work load , with way slower progression. Substituting a workout with a “trigger” session is a great hack to finding that balance.

Even professional Strongman competitors have talked about this. Practice the skill. Overload the strength. Condition yourself and sometimes they bodybuild to fill in the gaps or even things out. I would say everybody would benefit from this idea other than Olympic weightlifters because that is a skill they need to keep sharp all day everyday

It's definitely a gender thing, kids know they get more of an emotional reaction out of their mothers and for them it's fun and when you have a good father in the household kids tend to show a lot of respect because they care more about what their father thinks about them than their mother since their mother will tell them that they are perfect even when they know they aren't

So when you are talking about repeating the same message over and over again but in a different way, you are basically describing parenting. Because in the process of raising children, you keep repeating the same messages for years. You might express the message a different way at different times, but it is reputation.

Oh well. I’ll keep overdoing it.😂 64 years old. 5 days working out, usually 4 or 5 hours each time. 3 of those days I do hard cardio and weights. 2 days a week I do just weights. For weights I do one main body part and then auxiliary work for another body part, so I hit all body parts twice a week. Rest days Monday and Friday. 6 years lifting consistently; was doing 5, 6, or 7 days in a row and then taking a rest day in the beginning. Been doing my current routine for about 4 years. Every now and then, my body says take an extra rest day, so I do. Stronger than I have ever been and more muscle mass than I have ever had. Rather be doing that than sitting around watching tv or whatever. My body loves to be moving now.
