I've lost about 90+ lbs. And since discovering mind pump, I've been adjusting to a system that is more about keeping it off (primarily through strength training). From someone who is exercising to get to a goal, I'm now doing it because it makes me feel good and stronger. I think I'm now a certified pumphead haha. Thanks, guys!

I've been failing for almost all of 2023 but I am determined to keep going. I have learned so much in my failure and it has given me time to develop the habit of eating right 90% of the time. I am successful in the fact that I have maintained my initial weight loss but I haven't managed to lose this last 20lbs and recomp my body yet. I have built consistency and determination of a lion! I will not quit.....quitting is not an option! I see this as a lifetime thing....there is no "end."

I’m a 30yr old female.. and consistency and discipline have been the hardest for me ever since I left Rugby at age 25… until now. I’m a former yo-yo dieter, fasting for weight loss, etc… Idk what flipped the switch … but it’s crazy to think that it took me years to just get the fitness mindset down without always having sports to keep me in shape! The mindset of changing my lifestyle so that my results were sustainable and maintainable AND doing it in a healthy way. I’ve binged so many of your podcasts to help me on my fitness journey and in just the last few months… I’ve changed my diet, my sleep schedule, my workout regimen… I’ve lost 32lbs in 75days and now I’m working on building muscle… recently decided I MIIIIIGHT attempt bikini comp in 2025 because of you guys and a couple body builder friends! Thanks so much for your content… I especially like that you guys reference scientific studies to support your opinions and recommendations. Any time I’m curious about something fitness or exercise science related… I search your podcast first! Y’all have no idea the impact you’ve had on my journey!!

Solid info, gentlemen 👍 Pretty much the same thing I was saying over the weekend while I was visiting Germany. To all my (new and) old friends out there that I haven't seen in 3+ years - have a system that's SUSTAINABLE and just stick to it. At least 2-3x / week. Both in training and meal prep habits . & Don't over think the small details when the basics will still yield the most best results.

I’ve been into fitness for decades now. I set my goal early on for 3-4 workouts per week, that would include the gym, yoga, walking/hiking. I like a lot of variety and not to have to workout every day. There are times I have to push myself to go…it all works for me! You all have helped me not be too hard on my body and that I can skip cardio.

I lost 3 stone (42lbs) 15 years ago, I kept it off for 6 years. When I met my husband it crept back up by 2 stone (28lbs) (I was eating the same size portions lol) but stopped it in its tracks, lost the 2 stone and have maintained for the last 3 years (lost it during Covid lockdowns). It literally is about identifying as a skinny person - if it becomes part of your identity, it's harder to go back to being a 'fat person' - and I never want to be a fat person ever again, and I won't be.

For long term success people need to understand its their lifestyle that keeps them fat. It's not their diet or lack of exercise. It's their entire lifestyle that is causing problems. So people need to change their entire way of living. A complete lifestyle overhaul isn't something the average person is willing to do.

I have stopped weighing myself because of you guys. It is liberating!! Thank you!! However, I do still struggle with food and exercise consistency! I have 'completed' Maps Anabolic but wasn't consistent with the trigger sessions. 😢 I don't know why. I have eaten clean, done the candida diet, done a caffeine and sugar fast, only to revert back to old habits, despite knowing that I felt so much better on all of those diets. I just can't strike a balance! How do you lose weight slowly without restricting too heavily? I get healthy, lose weight but then landslide the opposite way. I just don't know what to do now! I can't seem to stick to eating healthy, whole foods without ending the day with something sweet! Add to that, the fact that I am not being consistent with working out either😢😢. I know that I can do this, but I just can't seem to do the right thing!! Am I trying to be too perfect? I want to have at least a day eating whole foods and complete my workouts for Maps Anywhere consistently. I feel like something is wrong with me. I know what to do and how to do it, but just can't seem to start. Anyone got any advice? 11:43

@@maxinereed7667 so I dropped 30 lbs but over two years. Goal was to lose just 2lbs per month. You do need to get used to eating a little less overall (calorie deficit) and start the day with some cardio like a 30 minutes walk/jog. Don't stay up at night, go to bed 9pm. Staying up late causes me to snack at night.

Hey guys! I'm a mom of three and am getting into strength training. I feel great and am enjoying taking my time with this process! I'm reading your book and appreciate your advice and guidance. A question: is there ever a downside to protein? (My dad did Atkins years ago-ha, remember that fad-and ended up with kidney stones. His Dr attributed it to that diet. He's not had them before or since, 18 years ago. Just curious as I think I've been nervous to have too much protein after his experience!) Thanks!!
@MindPumpShow9 ай бұрын
If you're eating protein from whole, natural sources (meat, fish, poultry) then you'll be fine. Improve the overall quality of your diet, and your risk for health complications will go down significantly. Along with the protein, eat plenty of fruit/vegetables, healthy fats, drink plenty of water- and avoid processed foods.

Now, as a mom of 2 littles, I gained and lost 80+ pounds with diet alone, so I feel skinny fat and realize that the only way I'll truly get the body I'm envisioning for myself is by getting consistent with exercise like I was 15 years ago. Second question is can DHT help with quad atrophy after ACL surgery? Many people can relate to this who had ACL surgery that even years and years after surgery their quad is always behind compared to the other leg or to how it was used to be before surgery.

I've been consistent all year. Not 100% perfect with everything, I've still had the odd night out and had days off working out when my body needed it or if life got in the way (daycare + toddler = 🤧🤒😷). I'm pretty happy with my progress so far. It's definitely a lot slower than I would like, but it has been exactly what justin said, small achievable goals that become part of your life. I have 6 weeks of leave coming up, so my focus is going to be improving my consistency. I'm going to be focusing on muscle building, so I'll be keeping a close eye on my strength gains on key lifts, while hitting my protein and fibre goals. I want what I do during this time to be doable when i go back to work. I'll likely get more steps in because I'm going to paint the house, so incidental exercise will be up.
