For the purpose of being informed, God created us, but we are sinful and cannot claim perfection in any sense because of our human sinful condition. We are forgiven through Christ, but perfection will only come when we get to heaven. We are loved by God and it is up to us to accept that love and live a life of giving love to others ❤

Thanks for mentoring the exception for ppl who can’t get their basic needs met. As someone from the states (where half of us live in poverty) I hate when rich ppl or ppl who have rich parents who pay for everything say things like “money doesn’t buy you happiness” when I know for sure nobody can possibly be happy who doesn’t have basic needs met. How could anyone be expected to not be chronically stressed/ depressed/ anxious when they’re constantly in fear of or experiencing homelessness/ lack of medical care/ poverty/ working 3 jobs to barely make ends meet/ lack of food/ can’t pay bills/ lack of child care.

Overwhelming obstacles. Such a harsh reality. I have no answer to help you. The only way out for me was when I got fired I made myself stay out of the stores - any kind of store - and I ate old food instead of throwing it away.

Openness is a form of non-clinging, or non-attachment; for example non-attachment to particular outcomes from a situation, or (in the example of talking with someone we disagree with, or attending a symposium) non-attachment to the opinions or knowledge we already hold. Openness is freeing because it allows us to be in these situations without (so much of) the inner tension of the clinging. Zen mind = Beginner's mind.

One way to relax about perfectionism is to ask: is this project worthy of being perfect? I came across this whilst mending a scrub rag. Yes, I like to practice my sewing techniques, but I kept saying to myself this is just a rag, it doesn't need to be perfect. I'm probably the only one who will ever see it. Good, is good enough. ... Saying this over and over helps reduce the perfectionism anxiety. 💜🌞🌵😷

Love your videos! One thing I've often found helpful is to remember every moment is a new moment, hence a potential new beginning and new opportunity. We don't always have to wait for a particular day, or give ourselves reasons to delay our nice new beginning or new start. If the day didn't get off to a great start, I like the idea of just starting again anytime, thankfully I actually do this but may be not often enough! Thank you for your videos x

Great summary and presentation on how the sensitive person can better cope in life. Appropriate mindset is such an important thing. For the HSP, Empathic persons are naturally able sensing and understanding things on a qualitatively different level than most sort of normal, everyday life humans. We tend to view another people as a sentient, conscious beings, just like us, the way we are. Not like sales man viewing others primarily as a mean achieving a sales deal; hence an object that can be manipulated for your own egoistic ends. That's the trap and main issue most HSP would run into. As naturally they are not introvert at all, on the contrary they are prone to communication with other authentically humane people. For they view another person as such in the first place. But faced with harsh social reality, bumping against the fake friendship, egoistic self-centered people, the all prevalent deception and violence. Only then they tend to become introverts, go into oneself. As a mean of self- protection. Yet the central point should be, and this every HSP, Empathic person should already feel. That it's not their fault, they are not to be blamed for, on the contrary the problem lies in the very our everyday social reality being totally flawed and wrong. Not adapted for the real, authentic humane social interaction and social life to take place and flourish. On the contrary, in most cases it's working to dehumanize, alienate and disempower people.(

I can really relate to the sentence „You will still be you if you archieved xyz“. As I struggled a lot with my mental health the past years (and am still working on it) my hardest realization was that I felt like needing a break from myself… like my own perfectionism, anxiety, pressure I put on myself etc.. It was super hard to understand that whatever I do or wherever I go, I can’t escape myself so I need to change myself to get happier. But I am now feeling so much more at ease and lighter, as I put in a lot of work to change my negative mindset for the good😊 For anyone feeling the same.. you can do it as well💚 Also thank you for the great tips Vera, your videos are always super helpful!

Oh my goodness #6!!!! You put such accurate words to something I have felt about myself for such a long time. I have spent most of my life in the defeating mindset that I am going from obstacle to obstacle or problem to problem, swimming against the current and I think I have missed out on truly enjoying so much of life’s experiences because of it. I am an anxious person by nature, even more so in the pandemic environment, and so, I think prone to seeing things in this light. I have at times beat myself up a bit for being so negative toward myself...isn’t that backwards?! The universe is here to support me! What a wonderful wonderful thought to keep front of mind! Thank you!

Good enough is definitely a great one. I handmake cards and I see. I often think of a saying from a US crafters KZbin video ‘handmade not hallmark’ when I’m making a card. Personally I don’t think the universe has anyone’s back. I think the universe is neutral towards us. I think we all get good and bad in our lives and the difference is your long term perception and attitude about fortune and misfortune. This story really made me think a lot about that:- A farmer and his son had a beloved horse who helped the family earn a living. One day, the horse ran away and their neighbours exclaimed, “Your horse ran away, what terrible luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.” A few days later, the horse returned home, leading a few wild horses back to the farm as well. The neighbours shouted out, “Your horse has returned, and brought several horses home with him. What great luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.” Later that week, the farmer’s son was trying to break one of the horses and she threw him to the ground, breaking his leg. The neighbours cried, “Your son broke his leg, what terrible luck!” The farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not.” A few weeks later, soldiers from the national army marched through town, recruiting all boys for the army. They did not take the farmer’s son, because he had a broken leg. The neighbours shouted, “Your boy is spared, what tremendous luck!” To which the farmer replied, “Maybe so, maybe not. We’ll see.”

Number 5 really went right into my heart... Love mindset exercises. One of my favorites are for anxiety or worrying. Asking myself two simple questions really helps - 1) is it true? Or is this just some problem my mind has made up... 2) can I do something about it? If the answer is no, then I find it easier to let it go of the anxiety.

I loved the idea of being a student for life. Every day there are so many new and exciting things to learn, life can never be boring if we just choose to be open to learning like you said. Many times hearing the same thing again, if you go into it positively, maybe challenge yourself to see if you can get a new perspective on it, almost always you'll learn something new. I love watching documentaries on animals and nature and how the universe works. It makes me feel more connected to this beautiful planet and the living things on it, including humans! Haha! Seriously though, the more I learn I realize the more I don't know, so having a learning mindset is wonderful! I can relate :) Sometimes it's not so easy to feel this way. Okay this is going to sound weird, but maybe it can help :) So what I like to do in times when I'm not feeling this way, is getting down low on the ground regularly. Feeling the floor helps me to ground and get out of my thinking mind, into the 'real world', where I feel much more connected with the earth, nature, animals, etc. Especially with all the technology, this grounding can help to step out of that mindset and into the present moment. Somehow that connection helps me to trust life more.

Hello Vera, I personally benefit greatly from visualizing what I want. I picture it in my mind and role play the conversations surrounding it. I journal all the details of the situation I want. This does two things for me. One it can temporarily improve my outlook at that moment and two, it acts as a concrete memory I can draw on in the future for motivation. I am not sure I used words to fully explain this accurately but I am hopeful I was able to do it some justice. As a side note, I have been meaning to thank you for the beautiful imagery you use in your videos, both on You Tube and Patreon. I look forward to it as much as your excellent council.

Number five really resonated with me. I am always feeling like I can't be happy unless I do something huge or important. Wanting to make a difference has really gotten me unhappy if I find I can't. Number six, about the universe working for me, I sometimes feel like it's working against me. I need to ditch that mindset. I'm actually open to learning so number seven doesn't really apply to me specifically.

Heart of Kentucky. Hi Vera. Thank you for your timely video. I'll probably watch it several times. Did your mother get the medical attention she needed? I still pray for you and yours. Katie.

Thanks so much Katie, I really appreciate that 💕 My mom got the surgery and she's doing much better. She still has a long road of recovery ahead of her, but the signs are good so far and we're all extremely grateful. Thanks so much for all your support

Thanks for concisely describing how I often feel and have learned about myself. Another way I keep a positive mindset is my morning practice which consists of 10-15 minutes of yoga, 10 minutes of journaling (how I’m feeling, what I’m grateful for, my intention and affirmation of the day) followed by a 5 minute guided meditation. Thanks for this timely and relatable video!

Yes, i agree.......the universe is working with you.......or trying to. Sometimes the universe is in charge, not humans. It just makes you believe that you are. The universe is very humble 😊 It’s trying to always teach you things along the way......you cant always have such a rigid mindset......be open, like you said

Hi Vera, great video ! About seeking perfection and always learning new things, I read about Carol Dweck's growth mindset. There are a lot of videos on KZbin about it. I was always striving towards being perfect and was putting an insane pressure on my shoulders by doing so. I was feeling bad when I didn't get an A or could not do something someone else could do and thought I was a failure because I thought I should be able to do it. I learnt that things can always be learnt, at any age, and we can actually get better at things if we practice (be it playing the piano, speaking a foreign langage, maths at school... ). It is the mindset I try to implement in my life now, it's OK to not be the best all the time but I can get there and this is fine. Take care !

Exactly! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts :) I've also heard of the growth mindset and it's very interesting

Hi Vera I’m going to try keeping a journal for expressing my feelings good or bad ? Instead of trying to talk to friends and family? especially at the moment with the lockdown everyone has enough to cope with 😌 thank you for some great tips ❤️

Hi Vera thank you! You most certainly bring positivety in my life👍❤️. I try to do the same although I always speak the truth.. . Saying: No thank you is more than enough! I found out afther years of explaining and apologies... It often does not help😕. If you say no to a friend try to ad an alternative in what you could do together, stay close to yourself and respect the other. Even with agressive salespeople I say no thank you, but have nice day in a friendly calm🙂 way and walk on. Most of the time it's better to just go with the flow, life is full of chances. To smile and an laugh for example .. Its for free. Look for the one thing that day to be thankful of, it will cost you a lot less energie. Have a nice weekend! And enjoy your blanket🍵
@SimpleHappyZen3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chantal!! Yes, saying 'no thank you, but have a nice day' with a smile tends to work well with sales people on the street haha, I agree
