The specific leaves being unaffected by biome coloring is very useful. Azalea leaves can provide a vibrant color in deserts which usually brown leaves, basegame forests look much more diverse with the unique tone of birch leaves. I use a terrain generation mod that uses spruce and dark oak leaves to make an autumnal forest that would be very dull without the diversity of the spruce coloring. I wish that you could get a potion ingredient from the creaking, as that would both incentivize going to the biome at night and taking one home. Since it doesn’t die normally and therefore drops are limited, I think the best way is to use an axe to strip a piece or bark off it or have it drop naturally (with preferably limited visible change, the idea of a bald creaking haunts me). Have it only drop 1-4 each night and now people are having creaking pets. Actually, this pre-release aligns with one of my ideas for what kind of potion! A potion that repels mobs would be very interesting, and possibly have it so an upgraded version only repels hostile mobs. It lines up well with the illager’s new behavior and the pale garden’s lack of creatures; the potion will make the area directly around you barren of life.

Last time I checked, removing both surrounding logs won't disable the creaking heart if the creaking has already spawned. For more redstone functionality, it would be cool if removing both logs immediately despawned the creaking and disabled the creaking heart, but removing only one didn't. This way, you could use pistons to control the creaking's spawning behavior: Both logs to keep it active at night, one log to keep it active until it despawns for other reasons, no logs to despawn it.

The redstone is interesting, but without being able to work during the day I fail to see too much practical application for it. I feel that the creaking heart should spawn a creaking if the sky light value is below a certain level. It would ignore block-light, and in the natural habitat it would act functionally identical, but making a roof, or bringing one underground, one would be able to allow it to spawn whenever. Another option would be that if you provide the Creaking heart redstone power that it'd be able to spawn during the day. At the very least allowing harvested creaking hearts to do this would be very nice, it's not like you can farm anything from the creaking, so I see no reason why not allowing people to use it during the day somehow makes sense. On many servers people tend to sleep and skip nighttime, for example Hermitcraft, how would anyone really do anything in those conditions? This could be an interesting creature to use in a game like if Tango decides someday to make Decked-Out 3, but without the ability to remain/spawn during the day they become effectively unusable.

Quick tidbit: texture overlays actually might work for animated textures. Animated textures are made as what's called a "texture atlas" which holds all of the frames of the animation in one image just tiled. That's what you're possibly seeing on the screen but it looks to be squished, most likely because textures are normally a square 1:1 ratio but your screen is a 16:9 ratio.

2:40 I can see this being super useful when it comes to UI for adventure maps or minigames.

The camera overlay feature is WONDERFUL! currently you had to mess with custom unicode characters and send them with a title, now you can much easier send visual effects!

camera overlay is genuinely super useful im glad they are changing up the attributes system

The Illagers running away from the creaking may have some lore implications, maybe in the Evokers' experiments on life and death (Seen with the Totem Of Undying) they created the Pale Garden, which would explain why the garden is a sub-biome of the Dark Forest

so we have a new red stone quirk where we can detect a players location perfectly. not only is that awesome for traps but imagine a door that only opens at night, with a player at a certain distance when they make a certain sound in a certain order. pretty cool

Thanks for showing that the leaves change vs biome. I was curious.

Carved pumpkin thing with the overlay sounds like it would be the same thing with spyglasses if that makes sense, maybe you could equip an item and have it display the spyglass lens

It’s so small, but the bubble popping parity makes me happy. I like that feature on Bedrock.

Oh damn that creaking comparator thing might actually be really useful if it could track a player when under their feet, though only at night time
@cubfan2 ай бұрын
Yeah some leaves being de-saturated while others aren't seems like an oversight
@pleasestopsubscribingtomyc33602 ай бұрын
wrong. spruces are evergreen, so they should be... ever green, cherries make no sense to change color, and azaleas are designed to imply they thrive in every environment.
@RePorpoised2 ай бұрын
but spruce, cherry and azalea leaves have never taken the biome tinting and that is one of their best points. Birch though, I'm less sure about.
@lasercraft322 ай бұрын
Its not an oversight, its intentional. Spruce and Birch leaves have never used the biome tint, they stay the same color regardless of biome, and the Azalea and Cherry leaves don't use a tint at all (instead just a normal block texture).

That creaking heart’s redstone signal with light increasing made me think of Alien’s movement detector

I think they should make the Creaking deal more damage and when you look at it it’s eyes close to add to it blending in. Or on the trees add some orange similar to the creaking eyes
@adamhayes46912 ай бұрын
I got really excited when I saw the signal strength of the comparator go up as you approached the heart, but sadly it only increases when the connected creaking gets closer, not players. That wouldn’t really make sense though if it increased when a player approached it. That would be very useful though. This is still a cool mechanic and I’m sure people will find interesting uses for it soon

Animated textures have an additional file paired with it, maybe that file also has to be paired in the NBT of the item when using commands like 3:30
