I know right? There’s an entire world full of people and an entire generation can sit down and listen to this and have it nearly bring them to tears. It’s truly amazing how much Mojang has done for all of us. I was sitting here and reading the comments while the video played and I just kept smiling at how many people share the same memories and feelings that I do. I’ve been playing Minecraft my whole life but i took a break about a year ago in July and i haven’t played much since so this really made my day. Thank you for uploading this. And i wish I could just go back to the two weeks of spring break a year ago and spend countless hours with my friends wandering around and getting lost, making our houses, terrorizing the villagers and each other. I wish I could do it all over again.

growing older has been interesting. as a kid i have memories of looking for minecraft servers with a friend. my friend would always do these giant extravaganza builds while i mostly just dug cave systems, kinda just making these ant like houses for myself underground. years go on and the usual story, life. the long exploring to look for a nice building spot, the beautiful generated terrain all ceased to be for the time being. my friend had built this bio dome which took a month of resource gathering, a lot of which he took the excess cobble i always had. he was good for making these giant over the top bases with lots of resources hoarded within. it was quite the achievement when he managed to get a sheep up there, one day he decides to invite a god damn server vip who was bein real cocky for fighting people. little did my friend know he would cheat and destroy everything with lava. but thats said and done, honestly there were loads of other stuff but one story is enough. so its been roughly 7 years or so since i last really played minecraft. my nephew had a switch so i helped the kid to get minecraft. once we learned we could play together on the switch via 2 player couch play i sat down and got comfy all over again. it took a second but the feelings i had as a kid slowly crept back without me realisin. when i first played minecraft before playing on servers or anything of that sort i would play the free to play minecraft. building my first house, making intricate tunnel systems for no god damn reason, watching the pixelated sunset. it was a rather nice nostalgic moment i had with my nephew, but what shocked me was how much i **didnt** know about the game now. for quick reference last i really played was closer to gravel road villages. so as i dig my usual long ass tunnel trying to find a new mine system, my nephew during his time away with the switch found a random spot and dug straight down in that tunnel. he brings me to this spot and says i should jump down, i tell him to do it first thinking he was just gonna pull a prank on me and to my surprise he actually did it. curiosity got the better of me and i followed him down the hole to plummet straight into water, as i look up i see him emergin for water while some glowing squid gently swim around me. as we both swim for dry land i notice how much different this cobblestone looks, darker and more ashy than normal. is this bedrock? what is all this? where are we kid? so many questions that he didnt have much answers to either which i honestly think that made him happy. just to have us both in shock and awe. i might be getting older, but that was my first time re-discovering minecraft as it was his first time experiencing something that ethereal. good times.

Minecraft was starting to hit a peak popularity when I was in middle school, and I’m almost 22 now. It feels surreal. I used to play all the time, back when I was a kid and had the time/attention span/energy. I haven’t in forever but I’ve always liked the music and have came back to it now and again to help me sleep. Last year, one of my little cousins wanted me to play with her, so we sat down and I realized that so much had changed. This little game has evolved so much over the years, so she had to teach me a lot. It’s bittersweet to remember being young and still feeling like I had forever to figure things out, and that time was infinite. Spending summer vacations staying up late in a very hot Midwestern bedroom (too hot to even sleep with a sheet on) and listening to cicadas while playing minecraft with my brothers or best friend until I fell asleep. Now I’m a grown woman with bills to pay and a job, the world feels smaller. The problems I face are much bigger. I’d give anything to see the world like I did as a child again. Sorry that this got long and sentimental lol

I remember when I was younger coming home from school and climbing onto a chair that was too tall for me and playing Minecraft on the family computer. Quite a few of my most vivid and favorite childhood memories is playing this game with my brother (dw he ain’t dead). Our generation is so enthralled by nostalgia, we’re so young yet we still yearn for the good ol’ days where times were simpler. I am ever so grateful that I grew up with the beta versions of Minecraft instead of what it is nowadays. It’s sad to see that Minecraft has changed so much to where it’s almost unrecognizable in a sense. This game was a n amazing part of my childhood and I am proud to see so many children growing up with such a masterpiece of a game. Thank you Mojang, and to you too Notch❤🙏

I fondly, fondly remember the times back in 2013-2014. I was a wee lad, and had pirated Minecraft for the first time. I resolved the errors and all, and got into my first world. Nothing ever can replicate that feeling anymore. The first village, the first zombie, and the best part: first creeper encounter. Creeper was basically the mascot of the game, and seeing it for the first time in person made me jump out of both fear and joy. Ah, olden days.

I have no idea why, but the first minute alone, almost made me shed some tears. i played minecraft back in 2011-2013 and then came back to it in 2021. Minecraft changed so much since then and coming back to it was like reconecting to an old childhood friend, wonderful, nostalgic and somewhat bittersweet. getting to know new people, playing in new and exiting ways and ofc listening to the new music made me realise how impactful this game has, is and will be in my life. thank you Mojang for this gift of a game, and thank you Craft Therapy for posting this wonderful playlist.

Music from minecraft was perceived differently in childhood. I looked at it as an unnecessary component. I was very wrong. I will never forget what I feel now when I listen to this music in the evenings after a busy day and remember that there is still something beautiful left in the world.

Absolutely, I was one of those people who turned off the music which I now somewhat regret. Yet paradoxically, I still feel this intimate surge of safety and peace when listening to it. As a reference, I perhaps only had the music on for the first 2-3 months of playing. It's insane how deeply it can penetrate your soul in such a short period of time. I will be forever grateful for Minecraft for creating these memories for me

I started playing Minecraft at a very young age. It wasn't when it first came out, neither was if very old, either. I had no friends to play it with, and I only remember enjoying the game the most when I watched my father play it. I remember coming home from school, dropping my backpack off in front of the door as a little kindergartener, and the first thing I'd do is run by the computer to the living room where my dad would be waiting (or already playing, if I was fortunate enough). I remember he had this hardcore world he'd been playing for years, doing various things. Some small, some big and important. I watched it all. I remember being obsessed with the square cakes when I first saw one. As a little kindergartener, I thought the square shape of them was hilarious. And the fact you could put them on block tables? Eat them like it was the real thing? Brilliant. I remember demanding he go to the local birch forest and bribe a cow back to his giant base (which closely resembled the shape of the Teen Titans headquarters tower) and make a cow farm. He had already accumulated a bunch of chickens, so I thought it would be appropriate. I still remember the contraption he made with redstone to filter and maintain the cows. I still remember how sometimes he'd already have a cake in his inventory when he'd get home. I also remember starting my own first Minecraft world; it was in creative, as I was scared of zombies that would spawn in the dark. I built this tower made entirely of pink wool and it resembled the exact same shape as my dad's base. A giant "T"; except I built mine to the block sky limit. I loved that thing. Each floor was something for my family. I remember trying to build a maze in front of my base (to confuse the zombies trying to kill me while I was in creative mode, obviously) and I laugh at how flustered I was when it never worked. I couldn't seem to wrap my head around the fact that in creative mode, I was invincible. I was so used to covering my eyes with my fingertips when my dad played -- he was so good at fighting the monsters that it was never long. Years later, my dad's hardcore world was finally left to rest as he found other games he enjoyed playing; and I found I loved watching him play those ones too. I still enjoyed playing Minecraft alone in creative -- my pink wool world holding its own, and the maze in front of my base still being redundant. With my extravagant base, my siblings became interested in the game. My sister, at the young age of 6, (the same age I was when I started playing) wanted to build her own bases. Her own secret spots that were never used. Her own useless mazes. My brother, too, wanted in on this. So their usernames were born. My sisters', contained a 6, almost a carbon copy of my own username, but a different number as she had proudly stated, "I'm six, that's the good number I want." My brother was having a Pokémon phase and wanted his name to contain Charizard in it. All wishes were granted, and they started playing as well. By now, I had started to branch out to survival mode. My dad had figured out how to host a server for me and my siblings to play on. I figured out how to play Bed Wars on Hypixel, and egg wars on CubeCraft. In my eventual survival world of my own, I built a cow farm for myself. I used the same redstone techniques I had observed my father use. I made square cakes. I shared them with my siblings. My 6-year-old sister found them hilarious; just as I had. Eventually, when we hopped back to our base, my uncle rode his tiny boat down to the castle he'd built, where most of our stuff had moved. But I did something else, instead. I went to our first base. The one where I'd accidentally used up all of our gold that one time and I had to go get more before my dad realized (he realized already). I remember passing the fake Christmas tree I had built on Christmas, and the fencing around the chicken coup. The beacon activated soon enough after I entered our base, but I wasn't there for that. I was there to place the dragon egg where it had all started. When you first go down the staircase, to our underground base on that server, the first thing you'll see is the egg on that pedestal. It wasn't its permanent home, but it was the one it first has - and that meant something to me especially. This game leaves a special place in my heart, and there will never be another thing like it. For all the memories it gave me, and to others, it has been a crucial part of what I've enjoyed over the last decade. Thank you, Mojang, for this wonderful game and the joy it's brought me. As well as that, thank you for this playlist. It makes me remember a simpler time, when happy memories were as simple as logging onto a server with my brother and sister.

My whole life used to be Minecraft when I was 9. Used to watch DanTDM, Stampy, PopularMMOS, and every other popular KZbinr. Not only that but I remember the days I spent with friends staying up late playing and staying in our rooms with the curtains closed all day until we realized it was no longer light outside. Laughing at the way we didn't realize the whole day had passed. Spent days upon days figuring out how to add mods to Minecraft before our parents came to pick us up and we would go right back to doing it the next day. No worries about life, the world, or all the adult stuff were no worries to us in our own little worlds. The worlds we could create, laugh in, and have fun with. Im recently 18 now and am so stressed with life and college but now I get to play with my partner. The nostalgia I get from this video and this game is enough to calm the stress of the world if not only for a small amount of time. If you read through this I appreciate it, I hope that you can live a small part of my life through this. GG all :)

I remember playing this with my brother and all of the neighborhood kids when I was younger. I would come home after school and play, or come inside with my friends and play as a break during the summer. I remember sitting on my front porch, eating a popsicle, while waiting for my friends to join my world. Now, I haven’t seen most of my neighbors in years and my brother graduated a couple of weeks ago. I’m sad that this part of my life is coming to an end, but I’m so happy that I have these memories to look back on as I prepare for the rest of my life. ❤

Minecraft isn't impossible to adapt into a film. The mistake everyone makes is attempting to somehow turn Minecraft into a fantasy narrative, where the hero Steve must defeat the big bad dragon at the end. But this is only the surface layer of a game that untimely has no narrative. The heart and soul of Minecraft is two things; memories and nostalgia. Its a game we all played as kids, thrust into a big open world we made dirt huts and dug with our hands. As we learned the rules of this world we built our first house, found our first diamond and tamed our first dog. We played multiplayer, building towns and villages alongside our best friends, and life was good. But one day our friends aren't online anymore, our laptop breaks and we lose our world data or we just stop playing the game. Eventually we boot it up again as adults, and walk through our old worlds, only to find it empty and filled with memories. Minecraft is a game about growing up.

I've made so many friends through this game, and over time seen them walk away from games to pursue their own carriers and goals. Even now that I don't really have friends anymore I don't regret the time I spend with them playing this game. I will admit Minecraft isn't the same anymore. I can't play this game for more than an hour by myself. But the memories are what keep me held on. Minecraft will always live on in my heart even when I'm old and wrinkly. i got this game when i was 6, and im 16 now. i might not be as old as the rest of you guys but it still hits me when i think about how im growing up, that im not so far away from being an adult. i remember when i used to ask my brother to play minecraft with me all the time, practically begging him to. and sometimes, i'd get lucky and he'd say yes. but when i play alone, i used to do so many stupid things that now i look back at and call them cute and innocent. the blocky treehouse that i tried to recreate from adventure time. the huge pink mansion that barbie inspired me. the things i'd do like trying to cure a zombie villager or make a hot air balloon after watching stampycat's videos. i miss it. i miss feeling like a child or at least the permission to be one. but now everyone expects me to be mature but sometimes, i dont want to be. i want to go back to that little girl who spent long nights trying to build the perfect house. I'll probably forget that i wrote this in a year or so. but im pretty sure i will find my way back to this someday. growing up is hard, and there are so many memories and people we leave behind for growth. but we'll be ok. :)

i will always remember coming home from a fun day at school, eating then being able to play minecraft with my little brother who is 2 years younger than me. we would meet together after eating in the bedroom and just continue playing where we left off. we built so many things. gardens, city buildings, stores, houses. we would explore and search for new land to claim, go mining and attempt at finding gold or even diamonds! we would play until 2am on weekends, nonstop until we couldn’t keep our eyes open any longer. the music discs were always on us as well, whenever we built a new place we would dance on top of it to the funky music. laughs, playful screams and rushed talking would always fill the room, we never got bored of it. now that i am the oldest sister of 5 younger kids, 2 of which are in the age range i was in when i was obsessed with the game. they constantly play and i hear the same things that i used to say to my brother. “there’s a creeper behind you!!!!”. i cant tell you how much joy it brings me to just hear that my siblings are experiencing the same kind of happiness me and my little brother did. i even join them sometimes, i get confused cause of all the new stuff and updates but it brings me back to when i was just 9. 9 years old sitting on the floor in my room with my brother playing on our small tv, talking and laughing with eachother. it breaks my heart knowing i’ll never truly get to experience that again but heals it knowing my baby siblings can and are experiencing it right now. games have always had this way of bringing people together, and it always will.

Goin on 24 years old now... Minecraft will forever hold a place in my heart, simply because it was the very first game I enjoyed with my friends, two of which I'm still very close with. We still play minecraft every year for about a week, discover what's new, beat the ender dragon, chill for a bit longer afterwards, then move on. I love those moments; they're my favorite part of the year.

Its amazing what an impact this music for an adult has. Compare to my childhood, it was just normal music. But now, it feels like a Message, that says that you are old, even if you are just 18 years old. It feels strange, not terrible. Just wrong. It feels wrong listen to this music. This music is made for your childhood, not for the live. And thats, why it feels so sad, because these days are over. Poorly

I remember watching minecraft gaming videos and wanting to play minecraft as well, it was so fun as a kid, its still fun. Its just different now, those youtubers don't post much minecraft content anymore and we all just grow up. it's quite strange, this music make me feel like I'm young again. :)

Me and my brother used to play Minecraft years ago and those were the best memories ever. He was the one who introduced me to video games and taught me how to play when I was just 5 years old. The first mc night i told him that I was scared so we just dug a hole in the ground and chatted about what we should name this world, what builds we make and so on. Those were some great times. Unfortunately now he's busy with school as a senior and I hope we can play sometime again.

So many may think of this game as childish and absurd but it is far more than that for us, especially those who remember the original Minecraft... The OG times... To think such a "simple" block game can have such impact on us... Such extreme psychological impact that just by hearing the mere soundtracks of this game we so love, we can reach the brim of tears. It's so beautiful and so nostalgic, I love all my fellow Minecrafters from my heart. Let's continue the legacy of this once in a lifetime gaming journey for years and years to come everyone. Aye aye?! Hoorah!

Thank you so much for making this man, I've been playing Minecraft since I was like five or six, and hearing this now, when I'm 15, going on 16, nearly puts tears to my eyes. It brings back the simpler times when I would just mess around in creative, doing whatever, and when I play Mineplex years ago. The nostalgia I get from hearing this is so strong. I hope everyone is having a good day, and remember, there is always an end to the bad. I love all of you OG minecraft players/

I'm in the exact same spot as you, having played since ~2010, when I was around 4 or so. The music really is a beautiful call-back, one that years ago, I always just turned the volume down for because I thought it was "annoying." But now, it serves to call back memories. Destroying villages in creative-superflat worlds with excessive amounts of TNT, building Aether portal frames and hoping every time (even after countless failures) that the water would light it, putting together a stand of netherrack and gold in an attempt to summon Herobrine and then being scared of an "encounter" that would never happen. I wish I could go back to those days, when everything was simpler, y'know?

I never had Minecraft as a kid, always watched videos from you tubers that I also listened to while sleeping, there voice was soothing and the background music helped me trough ruff times. Not all of them play anymore but the memories are still there. Fast forward when I play first on mobile because Computer was still a no go from my mother, I had one friend that always played with me. We both had our rhythm, I went mining because I loved to search for ores and just adventuring in general, and my friend build houses and farms, was there for food and stuff. My friends mother bought me Minecraft for my Computer and my friends Computer we were the happiest people that day. We played when ever we had time, daily, deep into school nights.. I miss those times. I know play on my own, build my own houses and farms, adventure alone trough the caves. My friend and I fell out of touch after we left high school, we just never texted each other again one day, never visited our worlds again, never again played all night long. I miss my friend, wish I could write them and ask for one last game for the good old times but life changes and numbers, houses, everything. I treasure those memories, I will treasure them forever. (sorry if my English is bad its not my first language soooo..)

the best minecraft graphics are the choppy ones that were there at the start, where you could make out each stone block because it's shade was a little different from the torch's fading light. I'm not sure why but that's what makes the game still feel nostalgic for me even after all these updates

So this is my story. I remember 2012, I was 9 years old the first time I played and it was the Pocket Edition version on my dad’s iPhone 5. I remember my first thoughts of building was a tree house, I remember me and my cousin building a massive mine so pointless since we could just dig down but we didn’t know then. I remember building the netherack which required 4 gold blocks, 9 cobblestone and a neither reactor. Then I discovered Minecraft servers, the hunger games whilst TheBajanCanadian released the iconic hunger games parody empowering me as I go on a killing spree game after game. Now in 2024, I’m turning 21 this year. I now have my own PC whilst in College pursuing to study in University in 2 - 3 years while practising investing and video editing as a hobby. I revisit the old hunger games maps and surprisingly there are still players playing on the Lifeboat servers. Although it’s usually a player count of 200 players average daily on the hunger games mode, a whole lot less to the 50,000 - 100,000 daily player count during Minecraft’s peak between 2011 - 2013. Happy New Year and this is to my fellow OG Minecraft players I grew up with around the world, I believe this game brought a lot of young people together during its time. It brought phenomenal feelings, memories and wild imaginations to bloom. I wish those times could last forever, we lost a lot of our fellow brothers to this moment but we’re still here. We’re still here comrades ⚔️🇬🇧🕊🥂

One of my favorite memories from Minecraft was when a tournament rolled around in our town and our theater was hosting it. My mom managed to get my friend and I in and we picked up our laptops and she drove us over. We got all set up with other kids in one of the theaters and the projector played captain sparkles welcoming us. The tournament was a blast and I met a long of amazing people Our favorite memory of it was during the in between times of the mini games we had plots our teams could build on, but you couldn’t edit another team’s plot. One of the plots managed to get someone from a different team trapped in a glass cage and a lot of us went over to watch. Eventually, the camera man flew over and we saw ourselves on the projector, so the person who built it shouted “SCATTER” and we all scrambled away, leaving the poor guy trapped I sometimes miss sitting in that cold theater, just enjoying one of the only games I had at the time with my friend and dozens of other kids exactly like me
