TAS speedruns are my favorite ourely because of the genuis, unorthodox strategies you see. I will see some TAS press random inputs and just think to myself "hol up let him cook". Never wouldve thought of that.

The trades aren't manipulated externally, but instead this alteration takes place in-game in a way that is theoretically possible for a human player, but obviously basically impossible to replicate in real time. To my knowledge it's akin to the tool-assisted runs in Super Mario Bros that use movements and timing in game to alter enemy patterns.

TAS runs allow for extreme, inhuman levels of accuracy- they push the limits beyond what would be reasonable for a person. They’re pretty fun to watch! They can use risky strategies without the risk of messing them up due to their precise inputs. As the video mentioned, they can perform RNG manipulation, which would require too much precision for a normal runner to do.

1. By beat the game I mean defraying the ender dragon, sure it can be argued there is no end but that’s what I mean in this case. 2. Whether the gameplay is by a player or not doesn’t matter, the actual information on who completed the speed run is not done by a human. 3. One minute of watchbait is still watchbait. (I say watchbait because it’s technically not clickbait if it’s not the title). 4. I’m not talking about the title, many people like myself scrolling through YT shorts may hear “Here’s how this person beat Minecraft 4 minutes before anyone else”, and assume the gain interest without looking at the title on the bottom of the screen.

@@icespirit Lets be honest, if someone says “The way this Minecraft speed run beats the record by 4 minutes”, everyone’s going to assume they mean beating the ender dragon, that’s the default assumption. Yes, the video does say it’s an alternate run fairly early, but that’s not really what pisses me off, it’s more how the video slowly goes from “Normal Minecraft speedrun” to “TAS run with edited rng for the theoretical perfect time.” It starts relative normal but as the video goes on it reveals more things that deviates the run I and others may be initially interested in to some other run entirely that edits the game for its time. The video is watchbait, I’m not demanding the creator give me everything upfront, but all the TAS and editing rng shit should’ve been more towards the beginning of the short

There was another guy who used a seed with a fully filled end portal, went to the End and built 1 block into the void to the next chunk, then broke it and technically set a world record, however the admins thought different and corrected the rules that you need to mine a chunk in the overworld specifically
