9:14 incorrect. It has a plastic shell but it has a metal chassis. Boosted Media done a teardown of the base and showed that it has a metal chassis inside.

Sure, the baseplate is metal, I cover this in the unboxing, I meant to say the main outer body housing is plastic rather than the chassis.

Yup. The Boosted Media teardown is very detailed. He's tough in his evaluations, normally, but sings the praises of this unit. He also does a separate console edition review, and says the implementation of TrueForce in GT7 is very, very good.

Great video, really appreciated your opionion on it's FFB. I have the system on the way and why I chose it over the other DD's was its great looks. 🙂 I'm not as big a fan of having a big metal motor bolted on my rig. I feel more comfortable with Logi's proven reliability, durability, and value as demonstrated with my 5 yr old G920, still works and looks like new. However I mostly chose this ecosystem for what I think might be its easy transitioning from racing to trucksim and then my flightsim setups. Nice to hear that its performance is superb. Cheers

I've owned this wheel and pedals for a couple of weeks. Massive nostalgia value for me as i started my sim racing journey many moons ago with the wingman. I've owned many wheels since then, including a lot of the Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec stuff. I've also spent considerable time using other DD bases such as SimXperience, Simagic & Simcube. The Logitech PRO Racing beats them all IMO, Yes, the plastic casing is a bit naff at this price point, but this thing is solid as a rock. You plug it in and it just works, the menus and adjustability are great and user friendly. The QR is very well designed. The detail in the feedback is best in class, the ergonomics of the rim are great but I agree that it's too hard, it doesn't feel premium when you hold it. Apart from the aesthetics this is the only criticism I have really. It's clear Logitech put a lot of R&D into this wheel. It's a great product. The pedals are perfectly good but don't bring anything new to the table really. Again, well designed, insane amount of adjustability and nice they also included a tuning kit. I mean they're good pedals but no reason to get them over others in the price bracket (apart from the fact you can connect them to wheel and tweak them from the wheelbase)

I don't think this LG Pro is worth buying comparing it with the others availables, since it doesn't come with the pedals, living in south america is pretty hard for those things, we have a high tax policy and importing is the only option for DD's

Would you recommend this for someone who had not sim raced before? I was planning on getting this with the Playseat trophy but unsure if it’s too expensive for a starter. When people say this wheel is too expensive they don't factor in that the return policy is 30 days and the warranty is 2 years. Fanatec is 14 days and 1 year. So the G Pro is twice as long. After purchase warranty and service matter on expensive products.

I’m curious if you dug deep into the Moza R9 settings. The stock settings are shit, but with a couple hours of tweaking I can say I prefer it over my buddies dd2. The equalizer in the settings really made the r9 come to life. Good to hear about the new Logitech wheel. I used a g27 for 10 years and never had a problem. The r9 paired with HE Ultimates were my upgrade path. Love all the competition now days.

It's a good point. PlayStation consoles out sell Xbox consoles worldwide, so the PS edition is probably the better choice for resale.

I kinda dig the look of this wheel, but I could be biased since I have a G29, we are all used to seeing DD wheels with metal shells but we don't see many with an integrated screen for telemetry, I get that not everyone cares about that, but in my case it's useful, I've been having problems with my accelerator pedal and it shows in the telemetry on games that have it, I've seen in a video that the screen can be configured to do other functions too. Now, I'm not a Logitech shill, if anything, I would love for them to make at least a new half decent H pattern shifter, God only knows how much I hate their stupid shifter, it makes miss shifting a routine.

Nearly all other sim reviewers received there wheels for free and seem like they are using it as an opportunity to progress there careers as tuber influencers more then tell the absolute truth. I ended up buying it, to make a long story short, the wheel design is a kids toy with many ergonomic issues and very sparse inputs, i run into frequent clipping at my desired ffb gain level, have an issue where its constantly pulsating in game menus, true force is a useless gimmick and i have it disabled.

I want this to be good. I want Logitech to be great again. I used to be a buy a lot of logitech hardware. But quality has really tanked in the last 5 years and their return process has become more complicated and slow. I still have a Logi mouse, its the RMA mouse, the first lasted 14 months. This one is 6 months old and its already showing wear. It's NOT as good as the version of this model I purchased for $99.00USD. I will look at other brands when I tire of this one. I spent $500 on Logi mechanical keyboards and RMAed all 3, and all 6 lasted less then 4 years. I have had this cheap mechanical I got off newegg for $55.00 for over 2 years now and its perfect in every way still...... The only logi device I have that has lasted is a PS style game pad. But its 10 years old now... Logitech was a different company back then....

Idk man, I have a G29 for 4 years now, a G pro x Superlight for 1,5 years, and a Logitech g610 keyboard for 4 years. The only thing that doesn't work is the volume dial on the g610 and this doesn't bother me. So I have a pretty good experience with Logitech stuff and would buy it again.

Compared to the fanatec paddle shifters and buttons how does it compare?

I've got mine last week and had Fanatec products before. Buttons are just ok, like console buttons with more feedback, they are not bad at all but it's the weakest part of the wheel if you compare them with hi-end rims. The 8 way jostick is really good, small but precise, great feedback but not push or rotary function. Rotaries are great, not too hard or soft, with push function. They are very well positioned, hard to accidentally move them with fast movements of the rim. Personally I don't like them being different kind in the left and the right but I'll get use to it. Magnetic paddle shifter and analog clutch feel great but not configurable in length, angle... anyway they are well positioned, shifting paddles are not noisy and have a nice travel. The QR is solid as a rock, way better than Fanatec's. I think the rim is between a Fanatec's BMW GT2 and a Podium R300 considering quality and features. Very happy with it for now.

I'd be curious to know what FFB settings you use for AMS2 because there's no way it's more detailed and engaging than ACC. If anything I find AMS2's FFB to be completely bland, to the point where i find the F1 22 FFB to be much more detailed than AMS2. SC2 pro user here.

I've run AMS2 on a number of different DD wheelbase models/brands (most of those, I've reviewed on the channel), and it's way more detailed than ACC with every one of those wheelbases. I haven't used a Simucube so I can't add anything to that.

I think peoples expectation was Logitech budget DD, but no where have I seen the word budget DD base from Logitech. Its priced right in its slot. With pedals in Australian $2000 which is just over a 8nm CSL DD with V2.5 Pedals and wheel. Console compatible. If it lasts as long as G29 then its a win. Don' t get hung up on the looks. Its the same motor just in a box. Like when people were criticizing Moza for their R16 bases.

What I would like to know is what arcade racers will work with this wheel. Obviously the ones on the official list. But what about older games like grid 2, dirt 2/3 , NFS series. There is an g923 compatibility mode. Does this mean it will work with all games that worked on g923?

The G923 mode is exactly that, so technically older games that support the G923, will make the G PRO to work with those games.

Been on my trusty G29 all the way when it came out then moved to the Thrustmaster T300RS which is currently serving me well though I am looking to step up to a DD and I have to admit the Logitech though a bit pricey looks like a really good wheel. Just waiting to see the Thrustmaster DD offering and then I will make a decision. With the Thrustmaster, apparently you can reuse your old rims if it is good and priced right it will be an easy buy...if not I will go Logitech...and Truforce sounds interesting as I can see a direct drive making better use of it..

Are you still using the Razer Kiyo? I noticed your footage goes up to 2K. Are you shooting 2K @ 60FPs with the Brio for your main sim rig camera?

Yes, it's the Razer Kiyo. So it's recorded at 1080p 60FPS, and I upscale the video to 1440p rendering the finished video output. It's a hack to ensure YT uses the optimum encoder for quality.

@@SimRacingCorner Awesome! I really love the look of your camera setup. Trying to go for the same style! How do you keep the Kiyo from fighting the ambient lighting versus the monitor? Do you like flood your room with light, or keep it super dark? I definitely have to do something about my ambient lighting since my wheel, desk look fine but the monitor is over exposed. I can only imagine how much work you put in balancing everything. It looks soooo good my dude!

I use a photography LED panel to splash light over the sim rig. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqqziYqYib5kiq8 Also, in the Razer Synapse settings, I have a custom profile for recording. It's nothing special, I've manually set the focus, and adjusted the saturation to 89. Exposure set at -7, Brightness and Contrast 128. Auto White Balance. But the key is getting some decent lighting for good results.

Good review. Glad it performs better than it looks and I don't mind how it looks at all, maybe a bit big. So it's better than the Moza R9 and CSL DD, but it's twice the price. Is it twice as good though? My experience with higher priced equipment is that you get to a point where you get diminishing returns the higher the price goes. Yeah it's better, but is it better in equal amounts to how much more it costs?

Twice the price? CSL DD Pro + RS rim + CSL LC pedals + shipping = 600+350+300+70 = 1.320€. This Logitech is 1.400€ shipping included. You get much more from Logitech for 1.400 than from Fanatec for 1.300.

​@@lsb79 I should have been more specific, Moza R9 with CS wheel. I can't get Fanatec in my part of the world at a decent price. But yeah, you are right, it's not twice the price. Still, is it proportionally better compared to cost vs. a Moza R9 base and CS wheel solution? It was not a statement, it was a question. I asked because I am researching upgrading from a Thrustmaster TS-XW and the MOZA R9 plus CS wheel seems like the best option considering what you get for what you pay, aka, value.

Great first impressions, I have been looking at the Moza R9 with CS wheel and Srp pedals as Fanatec isn’t available in NZ. However, I use both PC and PlayStation so need PS compatibility (which Moza say they are working on). This new Logitech wheel and pedals looks like it will solve those problems for me even though it is NZD $2000! And pedals NZD $700! I am a previous G27 owner, currently running a G29 so trust Logitech for quality and compatibility. Would be nice to see their plans for add-ons and additional rims. I will fit my new axc brake mod to my G29 pedals when I return from my trip to the UK and see how things go whilst I try and save NZD $2700! 😰

A lot of people also sleep on the accuforce v2 as well. With a good tune it can feel amazing and it has the frequency range to also give effects comparable to trueforce. It can put out some real convincing effects like engine rpm and such. With the update that enabled cloud tuning it’s as easy as a single click to get a great tune too. Too many people are bandwagon fans in this hobby and the community is full of confirmation bias so it’s hard to get good opinions a lot of the time.

I've reviewed probably past a dozen wheelbases, so I would consider I have a decent amount of experience to give fair assessments. I haven't used an Accuforce, so I can't and won't make a guesswork comparison, because I can't say if Trueforce is comparable. Personally, I wouldn't say Trueforce is a priority selling point for this DD. It is a layer over the top of the normal FFB, and it actually drowns out the clean nuisance detail of the pure physics based FFB. The Logitech is extremely good in this area, only slightly bettered by my Leo Bodnar. And that alone is very impressive.

Mine has developed multiple vertical lines of dead pixels on the OLED screen. Also it starts to vibrate when not in use and wheel shakes slightly after an hour or so of use - and it loses force-feedback strength until it is reset. I am going to have to return this one :( It is brilliant other than that, I agree with your comments.

This is about 4.5x more torque than the DFGT. But of course you can run the strength lower.

I love the new setup and personally don't think it looks cheap with the plastic shell. It's got a thick metal base that everything is mounted to so its solid and the brake pedal is amazing. I feel it was worth the price of admission. Just curious I just started toying around with AMS2 what wheel settings are you using in game?

Agree with you. The build quality of the base and pedals are really nice. The plastic is very HQ and in my opinion it has a good design. The wheel itself is just stellar with a very high quality leather covering.
