Mini band Exercises - 24 Mini Band Moves For Full Body Workout
The Mini Band is a piece of exercise equipment that EVERYONE should own. Mini Bands cost under $3 and can be stuffed in a drawer or thrown under the bed when not in use.
If you don't have one get one here: goo.gl/uN4AR0
They are cheap, take up little space and can easily be taken with you in a suitcase or purse when you travel. Plus, with just one Mini Band you can get in a great full-body workout. While they are often just used for glute activation exercises, they can also be used to work your upper body.
These are broking down into 3 categories:
Upper Body Moves
1.Scapular Flyes (0:15)
2. Half Kneeling Single Arm Row (0:25)
3.Pulldown (0:38)
4. Tricep Overhead Extension (0:47)
5. Lateral Push Up Walks (0:57)
6. Bent Over Double-Arm Rows (1:10)
7. Cross Chest Tricep Pushdown (1:23)
Lower Body Moves
1. Clams (1:35)
2. Lying External Rotation (1:47)
3. Standing Abduction (1:56)
4. Standing Kickbacks (2:06)
5. Squats (2:20)
6. Glute Bridge (2:32)
7. Single Leg Glute Bridge (2:40)
8. Lateral Shuffle Mini Band Walk (2:53)
9. Monster Walks (3:04)
10. Side Lunge (3:14)
11.Hip Thruster (3:26)
12. Single Leg Hip Thruster (3:34)
Core Moves:
1. Mountain Climbers (3:47)
2. Bicycles (3:58)
3. Bicycles With Rotation (4:06)
4. Plank With Taps (4:19)
5. Lateral Crawls (4:30)

Here’s the thing. kzbin.infoUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. A fully extended reverse fly is avoid as far as you should stretch these. If it’s too easy, use more than one band at a time.Not rocket science.

Super pumped about using my bands! I've noticed in some videos that people wear the band differently when doing a squat, for example. What do you say is the difference between wearing the band over your heels, on the middle of your calves, over your knee or on the middle of your thighs? Which muscles are used when? Thanks!
@redefiningstrengthOC
@redefiningstrengthOC 6 жыл бұрын
So the higher up you put it aka the closer to your hips and glutes, the "easier" it is. And by easier I mean the less other muscles can take over and the more you can really focus on the glutes working. The further down, the harder it is as other muscles can take over. I find right below or above the knees to be best for really getting those glutes firing :-)

@redefiningstrengthOC
@redefiningstrengthOC 8 жыл бұрын
+Quéren-Hapuque Mota Araújo So it depends on what you what to accomplish that day. I wouldn't use all 24 moves each workout. If I was doing upper body I would pick maybe 5 exercises and do 3-5 sets of 10-15 reps of each in a circuit (so exercises back to back) or if lower body pick about 5 exercises with the same rep and set range. Here is also a discount code to my mini band course that has workouts using these moves and more just in case you are interested since this could help give you some workouts! Hope this all helps! :-) www.udemy.com/mini-band-exercises/?couponCode=Video

Shouldn't the bands not be placed around her knees? THey should be right above or below
@redefiningstrengthOC
@redefiningstrengthOC 8 жыл бұрын
+Katelyn Cook As long as it isn't uncomfortable, I find it very helpful to place it there because the most important part is not letting your knees cave in. You can place it above to regress the move and help engage your glutes or you can move it below your knees to make the move harder as long as you feel your glutes still working. Generally though it is slightly to the top or the bottom of my knees even if it looks straight on. :-) Good question though!

Hey, I know you have put a link to the site to get bands and I know there's differing levels of resistance available, but which variety would you recommend, please?
@redefiningstrengthOC
@redefiningstrengthOC 6 жыл бұрын
So Phil I recommend getting the variety pack. I find with different moves, having the different resistances is key. I get the perform better one yellow - black. I find the black good for more lower body and the yellow and green good for upper body or even more isolated movements.

That exercise @ 0:35, band around arms, arms lifting up, coming down ... how would you describe the purpose of that? It seems sort of like a wall slide without the wall. Lat stretch + shoulder stability? UPDATE: I just noticed that you title this one a pulldown, which suggests that it's a lat building move.

Any advice for the care/maintenance of elastic mini-bands? During the workout, I sweat a lot and it damages its quality, and end up breaking after a few months :( Is it drying it enough? Thanks

Honestly, the video shows the band too low. My trainer would always have me put the band about 1/2 - 1inch above my knee cap. Try that and you might notice a difference.

+Michael Toso Honestly I don't know. Maybe the link has more details about that? I literally just use the green, blue or black depending on the move and my strength and feeling the correct muscles work. I'm not concerned with how much weight it is...Just that the right muscles are working. Sorry!

Redefining Strength The link is about how the joints move and which exercises work the muscles involved. VERY informative.It actually simplifies the knowledge required by treating ankles like wrists. knees like elbows and hips like shoulders. Would you like a short course? Maybe you can make a short video.

You know that having the band around your legs like that activates your glute medius more so it actually engages your glute max more too right....It's ok to ask if you don't understand why something is being done but don't comment if you don't truly know.
