It is amazing to watch your videos, especially for someone with a Workshop, who get's inspired by your ideas... I only wish I were one of them. I sadly don't have a workshop, I want to get one... But at the moment, I have neither the money, nor the space, nor the time, nor the ideas. To say it simple: I didn't finish my education, live at home and my mom would kill me if I would try to turn her Garden House (or what ever the correct english word is) into a workshop. Great video and always fun to watch, keep it up!

A tip from someone who's learned the hard way, you need to support all 4 corners of casters and ideally the whole plate. With only 3 corners when you hit the caster on a bump the right way it'll start to bend the unsupported corner up. Eventually you bend them far enough that the balls that allow yhe swiveling escape and you've got a mess and a stuck caster. Your casters are probably beefy enough for the weight of your stand, but if you start having troubles with them not wanting to swivel, this might be why. I had a lumber cart (couple hundred pounds) on casters robbed from a 4 caster furniture dolly that was rated to 1000lbs and I completely obliterated the casters because only ~75-80% of the caster plate was supported.

Good thinking. Just remember the limits of the machine itself.. catastrophic failure with air tools is not a pretty sight. Keep showing the math so others can be safe also.
@tommy49er3 жыл бұрын
He said the output was twice what he could do. That seems pretty reasonable to me. It would be like calling over the shop giant and getting him to essentially double tylers weight (since the most force you can apply is the entirety of your weight). As long as you're not going overboard on the material thickness it should be fine.
@matthewpeterson33293 жыл бұрын
I agree. And after spending about 20 years making steel rule dies, it's not that a the bender isn't capable of handling the extra force, but the dies being strong enough. I have split many dies over the years on 3 point .937 rule... they just fatigue and break after thousands of bends. 4 point rule is even heftier, obviously. When you get into bending thicker bar or rod, the dies are not designed for that, even if the bender seems like it will handle it. We all know tools are designed for a purpose, and this rule bender was not designed for this. Be safe, Tyler.

Whoa that's cool! I like your non-destructive approach for the conversion. Power goes out, compressor breaks? No worries, just switch back to elbow grease.

Idk if that would be possible given the length of extension of the piston, but by moving the linking point towards the end of the handle would give you more torque on it

you are missing out on so much leverage if you moved the piston back a bit, the torque (?) would be so much higher
