Can I do this outdoors in the warm/hot humid weather where the setup will sit on a table under direct full sunlight? will it need to be covered to prevent rainfall or brought indoors or under a roof whenever there's threat of rain??? The size will make it possible to grow things for apartment dwellers in Africa, who do not want to risk bringing soil up to their apartrment.. P/S. Could you spare good seeds of the hottest peppers you know, Bhut Jolokia, Trinidad scorpion, Carolina Reaper, Flavorful Jamaican scotch bonnet, Brazillian Ghost, others with great flavor but not necessarily so hot. I'd leave my phone number but there's no non-public option

Have you tried using the flora coco series? I recently came across it and it mentions that it have cal mag in it. From what I remember from your previous videos you said you added cal mag for the peppers so would buying the coco series be better? Also regarding lights can I use a white or cool white flood light 50 watt? I'm really struggling to find lights
@bruizey73195 жыл бұрын
You can get away with cfl or flourescent, but a full spectrum led or hid is much better (try ebay?)
@kiks125 жыл бұрын
@@bruizey7319 I have tried searching for stuff here in india, but it's been unsuccessful. Ebay has atrocious shipping fees. Also, there's nowhere that sells "grow lights", I'm not really sure about the light requirements. It has been stressing me out.
@bruizey73195 жыл бұрын
@@kiks12 I understand! Floodlights are terrible, mostly heat, wrong spectrum etc. If you can't get a proper grow light, try using a warm white fluorescent or compact fluorescent (cfl). fairly efficient, not as much heat, the blue-ish spectrum light keeps the plants from stretching, as long as there is enough of it!

@WombatMuffler5 жыл бұрын
I have tried this method last winter and I was not getting the same results that you are getting. My peppers still tried to grow to full size, even with the roots wrapped all around in the cut off bottle. Am I giving them too many nutrients or is this dependent on the variety of pepper? I use the Flora grow series of nutrients.
@KhangStarr5 жыл бұрын
Yes, certain varieties will grow smaller in small space, but you can also trim to keep them small as well.

Hey! Really appreciate this video; I've been doing this for a while after seeing your earlier ones that mentioned this. But I left too much room in the bottles, and my plants are getting too big before they flower, and it's getting to be a hassle... could you estimate the size of your reservoirs under the net cups, either in cm/inches or ml? Thank you!
@TheGRUMPSY Жыл бұрын
You should let everyone know that the brand of water you use will determine the shape of the bottle! I cut my bottle and the net cup just fell through Looks like you're using an Ozarka bottle and my HEB brand is straight up and down
