With a Rod/stroke ratio of 1.91 the 4.8 is built to handle rpm! Way stronger combo than a 5.3, 5.7 or 6.0 etc. Nice build 👍

I just watched all of your videos about your cheap malibu build, I was wondering how you determine a good engine to pull? Theres a bunch of 6.0 at my local pick a part, but I dont want to waste my time for it to be junk.

If you're my customer, this is not how I put your engine together, LOL. That was funny. Yes, let it sit so the sealant squishes out. I usually give it 24 hours before the angled turn. Plus, when I do heads I use engine paint to spray on the head gaskets then let it flash for a good minute and then set the heads on. Need a crowbar to pry them off when it comes time to. I usually wait a day or so and retorque the whole engine again before I cover everything up. I made a couple vids on my channel about it. Gonna sound soo cool, lol.
