Quick and simple! Appreciate the tech spec too, means I can get the strut off of ebay instead of having to buy the whole kit 👍

Excellent vid, very helpful and concise. Definitely one of the first things I'll be doing to my mill, thanks

Thanks for the great feedback :) Good luck with the job. I have a few more SX2P vidoes in the can waiting for some free time to edit so feel free to subscribe if you'd like to be notified when they come out 🙏

@@myharris It was the first thing I did after removing the safety guard and cleaning the factory gunk off, so thanks again. The ring nut from the right side of the stock spring makes a dandy spacer for the top of the strut as it turns out :)

this mill does NOT have a quill, right?

No quill, but there's a fine-feed wheel which works just as well for close work. Hope this helps, appreciate you stopping by. Best, Harris

they fail... hate saying it. maybe tomorrow, maybe in 6 years. dont trust them anymore... im waiting on a 20mm air cylinder. idea i set a regulator to just below the pressure needed to counteract, like a pound less. and a safety valve set to just slightly higher. iirc, 20mm=1/2squin = 60 psi to counteract the 15kg head... give or take. would like to see some more detail on the x2P... looks like you are the only one so far. debating about blowing au$1200 on one before i finish installing the screws into my current x2... the extra travel sounds really handy, but i notice the saddle is mounted differently... looks a lot easier to scrape that base! 1200 is pretty cheap actually... thats shipped. and there are scant few photos online, either... sigh, now ive scraped the stinking thing, and got the r8 spindle and a bunch of collets... sigh. yeah, toolchanges drove me nuts when it was running... but so did ~90x220 of work envelope...

Great info in there, thanks. What would you like to see/know about the SX2P mate? Let me know your wishlist, happy to oblige. About time I got another video out but these days it seems to be a choice between doing stuff or filming stuff! Cheers, Harris

@@myharris cheers :) just some clear shots of the range of travel, what it looks like at the extremes... clearance and stuff... room to gouge out the back and stuff a stepper in there? probably too much to hope for... what it looks like on the underside? webbing? iunno. the bits you cant see in a photo and only find out when it turns up? though considering it all i can probably do a granite epoxy thing for about the same price, with more travel and stiffness anyway... decisions, decisions! i give credit to anyone that does videos. harder than it looks. hard enough just making whatever it is... when theres a chance to.

@@paradiselost9946 Alright look, up to me eyes in concrete just now before the rain hits, I'll see what sort of time I have this evening to wave a gopro around, might have something half way usable either tomorrow night (UK time) or maybe even before, if the caffeine works. It's a big purchase so appreciate you want to know all you can. You might've seen some of the other vids I've done on this machine, just fiddly bits like fancy handwheels and stuff, but you might get more of an idea of the machine itself. I'll see what I can do, it's good motivation to get another vid out 👍
