Question for everyone, being wargamer I love this bunker and would use it for for my Imperial Guard or 4 when I play bolt action. Being said what is everyone's opinion on writing down the specifications at the bunker and what it counts as on the other side to speed up the game and to dissuade rules arguments?

Sorry I can't help with an answer here mate, but I'll pin this and hope you get some feedback. Cheers.

does bolt action not have any rules for bunkers?

For 40K I would be concerned about constant rules updates.

A better option would be to have a piece of paper in your box with the info instead, and reference the page numbers/books of where you got them from.

Baking soda helps the glue to 'kick'. Creates a weld which makes it really strong! Great build and setup. Thumbs up with the approach. Proper job with the bunker!

Very cool. If youput some vinegar on those bare wires it will give them a nice natural rust effect.

Quick feedback for the razor wire: You dont usually use a single coil to block out one place. Most army doctrines have three coils that are stacked with two at the bottom and a third on top, each interlocking into the other, fastened together, and secured by plocks into the ground. Big wooden stands like yours would be common for something like a roadside checkpoint, so the barrier can be removed faster to allow passing of vehicles. There are plenty of pictures online you can use as a reference!

Just randomly watching some of your older videos(btw loving your content only recently found you) with the hobby scale razor wire dont know if you've ever discovered but the hobby scale razor wire is simply check sealing wire used to secure tag stuff you can pick it up from Ebay for like 10-15 bucks for a 50m roll
@RFDHobby

I didn't at the time of the video, but it has been pointed out to me since, and it's a much cheaper way to go. Although I have hardly made a dent in this tiny roll from AP so far. Thanks for watching and commenting mate, happy to hear any suggestions or feedback. Cheers.

I had a friend tell me about an alternate way to get good divots in the foam substructure for miniature terrain, what he did was just use some acetone to disolve them down rather than heat, for those sized divots you would probably only need a drop or two.
@RFDHobby
@RFDHobby 3 жыл бұрын
That would work really well I imagine, thanks for the suggestion, I'll give that a go. A good alternative for those that can't melt it neatly too. Thanks mate!

Thanks to you mate. Really glad you like it. I'm quite surprised how effective the caulking is too, so I'll be using in some future projects for sure. It's so much cheaper than texture paint! Cheers.

Small caviat with the Bunker on top, It was a bit rare to see bunkers with completly flat areas in the opening, they often had some kind of Stair in it to to prevent bullets from entering the Bunker from some angles

oh excellent tip, thanks mate, I'll have to keep this in mind on future builds, I do lean more towards trying to make these builds close to realistic where I can, and this will help. I appreciate the comment.

@@RFDHobby So I looked into it abit more that example isn't completly unheard of but often in the context of a bigger observation bunker. As reference I could point you towards the observation /command bunker from the Longue sur Mer Battery in the Normandy.

Hey, not sure if you do this already, but if you're using organic products (like back yard dirt), you really should throw it in the oven for 200 deg C for ~30 min first to kill the organisms in it. Helps it last much longer.

Top notch, mate. Your concrete looks really good. I found myself wondering about the dimensions of this project. I recently made a couple of bunkers myself, but they turned out to be way too large and not to 28mm scale. I'm going to toss those and start over, methinks. This whole piece comes together with the other elements like the tower, the ammo crate, the barrels, and so forth. Nice work and thanks for sharing. Cheers, --Bo

Thanks very much mate. Yeah, I find it really easy to oversize my builds as well, and it looks great until I put mini's near it. I find having a mini (or oddly enough, building a small door for the build first), and having it handy helps to remind me of scale as I go through the different parts of a build. Let me know if you want any specific measurements of this and I'd be happy to share what I can.

haha, and that's not the first time either. I'm generally outnumbered by insects here, so I guess I'm lucky they don't show up in the videos more often :) Given that less than half of the insects here in Australia have actually been named, there's a chance that he's one of those, so we can call him Kman if you like? :)
