Yeah, you nailed it. This is peak Ministry IMO. Not every track on the album, but most of them... just soar and fly into a dream state. I shared Brick Windows lyrics with my sister, who is NOT a metalhead at all, and she absolutely got it.

No doubt, Michael. Brick Windows, Crumbs, Lava...all incredible tracks. This is an honest, creative album by artists who weren't resting on their laurels. They could've made millions by giving Warner Bros. and their newly found metal fans a redux of Psalm 69, but they chose to keep challenging themselves. I find pretty much everything from Land of Rape & Honey through AnimositisominA interesting as hell...especially those aural poems such as "Grace," "Dreamsong," etc. Such tracks are far beyond the talents of rockers dominating the airwaves back then...or now for that matter.

Check out the live version with Eddie Vedder on stage, he's so high. Such a good performance. Definitely like thier version better than Dylan's.

To this very day, FILTH PIG from start to finish is an immaculate offering...every song has visceral engaging quality...FP is a flawless victory and although the latest record AmeriKKKant is actually quite good, I hope Uncle Al/Hypo Luxa gets back together with his longtime partner in crime Paul Barker/Hermès Pan🙏🏼
@10B1Gjigs6 жыл бұрын
Agree completely, Francis. I'm listening to the track, "Game Over," at the moment. Good stuff. Al may be accused of a few things, but stagnating is not one of them. But yeah, his collaboration w/ Paul was something special. In my humble opinion, they achieved precisely what they set out to do, which was to create the darkest, heaviest music around, both sonically and lyrically. Just listen to "Broken" from '03.

An interesting mix of hope and despair in this overlooked and often misunderstood album. It feels more personal and seems to tell a story more so than any other Ministry album. One of my favs for sure. I enjoy it more each time I listen.
@mike-st6vf5 жыл бұрын
well put, and although the despair greatly outweighs the hope, it ends with a feeling that maybe, just maybe youll find a dim path of light to follow out of the darkness. just a phenomenal album that, according to Al Jorgenson seemed to develop into its own sound and feel. I dont know how many "Industrial Doom" (and if I may have just made that up just now) albums there are out there, but this album is the epitome of coming up with something unique and original that works on every level....maybe someday Al will actually be happy with it!:)

@@moongrime great tune and twitch is a milestone of an album...Uncle Al seems like a good dude but I think he has severe emotional problems...he actually slammed Twitch just like he did With Sympathy...it makes no sense to me when a person beats themselves up for being exceptionally talented. I'd imagine Clive Davis was baffled by his behavior as well. At least we can enjoy what's out there despite how feels about himself...I hope he figures it out instead of smoking like a chimney and drinking like a fish.

I love how this song is the closing of the album and how upbeat and positive and friendly it sounds compared to the rest of the album which is dark and heavy. It's basically like a happy ending to the story and theme of the album being like: "That wasn't so bad. Everything was tough and it really seemed impossible to get through but we did it somehow and it wasn't so bad. Everything's okay now." I always feels like this song foreshadows Al's recovery from drugs and alcohol in from this point on in 1996 during the Filth Pig era and because it's a uplifting closing song in contrast to the previous ending songs of the albums which are dark, sad, and scary (Abortive, Dream Song, and Corrosion) all of which were made before when he was struggling severely with addiction. But this closing track being not dark, scary or sad sounding signifies that everything is going to be ok.
