These guys were ahead of their time. A funky synth pop band with a live drummer. Utilizing some of the remixed versions of “Work For Love” and “Revenge” in their live performance. Nothing to be ashamed of. 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Ministry 1983 line up: Al Jourgensen (vocals, guitar), Stephen "Stevo" George (drums, percussion), Rob Roberts (keyboards), Brad Hallen (bass, keyboards), Mark Pothier (keyboards), and Shay Jones (vocals). This is one of the best copies I've seen of this concert. Excellent restoration.

Maybe it's a earlier generation of the tape. I really appreciate those that didn't do stupid things like me and throw away their VHS recording tapes. I once also had a lot of bootlegs, mail order or the hole in the wall store. They didn't like Ministry either way but that was the college waterhole for music. I kept official vhs tapes and was careful not to overplay them. Kept two vhs decks recording mtv or vh1 on SLP 6hrs w/e itway. I got one good video every 96 hours or so in 2000. lol I hope I gave away the bootleg 90s Ministry, can't find it. Thanks for the 1983 lineup. Now we can demand they petition Al to stop the chicanery and make Ministry synthpop again gabdamnit

So many amazing sounding songs that were never released....this and other live recordings are all we have. Sad.

Never heard the song "So So Life" and never knew it existed until today. Sounds good and a real shame it never got released in any way. Should have made the album. Edit: Watched the whole thing and there is a whole bunch of unreleased songs in this show. That sucks. (The fact that all there great songs were never released, I mean. Not the show, it's fantastic, just wish the quality was better.)

Amazing! So much like Depeche and Duran Duran around this time. Twitch was shocking to us that were there for with Sympathy. All is good. Glad that Al is not mortified by the synth pop era. It is what it is and what it is was great in 1983!

It was just today I found out that there are a whole bunch of early Ministry songs that were only played live and presumably have no official studio recordings and now I'm kind of bummed out as a fan of their early work. Honestly had no idea.

How was your time with Al?

Wow this is fantastic! Al really does have a great voice for this stuff, sounds just like the studio recording, which is a claim not many vocalists can make. Sucks he was never really into it, he could have been one of the biggest names in the scene. also too bad the audio and video quality is so poor, but it's a video cassette recorder from 1983 so I guess you really can't expect much. Wish I could see an alternate timeline where Ministry stayed with this style, as I am only a fan of their early work and don't really care much at all for anything after Twitch.

@@jenniferduvall292 well... Al was by all reports, himself. I can't really report on what he was like without sounding like a gossiper. You'd have to determine what he was like by reading what others have said about him.
