Wood rat or Norway?
@BootsEditor114 ай бұрын
That's a Wood or aka Pack Rat. I'm dealing with them, caught my share but my property seems to be built on the best ecosystem. They like my wifes cars. The other day one that may have had a nest in it, jumped out covered in babies at the gas station, ran around her a couple times, and then disappeared under the car. Perhaps still there! arrrgghhh
@fouresterofthetrees2874 ай бұрын
@@BootsEditor11 I had that issue with eastern gray squirrels. Chewed up the fuel lines on my work truck and the injector pipe on my son's car.

@@fouresterofthetrees287 I've heard car mfrs use a soy based plastic on some things and rodents will chew them!
@fouresterofthetrees2874 ай бұрын
@@BootsEditor11 I have heard that too, but just the wire insulation. I am not sure how well soy would hold up to contact with petroleum for extended periods. The mechanic at our agency shop knew exactly what had happened when he saw the fuel lines torn up. Said I was lucky no one dropped a lit cigarette nearby when I stopped for coffee on my way to work.

Been following these two guys for years now. Both are at the top of my list of must see/ frequent checking to see list. Shawn is great and has a super show here. Minkman Joseph Carter is also a must see channel. Don’t overlook him. These are solid, Honest family men that happen to be very talented, unique and creative in their respective pest control fields of expertise. This was a bonus for me… BOTH of these guys in one video 👍🏻 Oh.. shout out to Greg Ovens Rocky Mountain Bushcraft. He fits in here very well with his own niche . Check him out, too. Thanx, Shawn👍🏻

A rare trap, able to catch rats. But putting grass or straw over the platform/door will be a lot less weight, allowing the door to more surely close, and at a faster speed. Thanks for showing.

Thank you for this video. If I understand you correctly, this system is like a snap trap, but instead of killing the rat, it traps it into the cage ? I find the idea of covering with dust interessant, even with just one snap trap alone.
