Enjoyed watching both of your videos. And, I actually just purchase the exact Minn Kota Rip Tide from Bass Pro right before Christmas. I looked and compares all of the Rips Tides. I landed on the very same unit you own. I will not be getting a foot control unit, but its nice to know that is an option gong forward. By now you know the Rip Tide In-line Unit is the next model up that allows you to connect with your Humming Bird Depth Finder. Also, its hand control unit is different, other than that, its the same unit. The Blue Tooth Round Devise (12 volt unit) helps direct your GPS Main Head unit to stay on true north. Mainly if you where to fish under bridges, you loose GPS, and the Blue Tooth Devise allows the unit to find and stay on true north. Once again, i enjoyed watching your videos, and appreciate seeing a hands on person figuring this unit out. Because, its not any easy to figure out- straight out the box. After all, it can take up a lot of space in me garage as well. Hopefully, I'll send you a few pictures once I get my unit installed come spring. Thanks again, and happy fishing and go Spot Lock! I just added this same motor to my pontoon boat, but I used the quick release so I could take it on and off if wanted. highly recommend!

I have looked at those as well, but couldnt think of a reason to take it off

@@BendItFishing i was thinking if I am traveling and staying in a hotel somewhere, it couldnt get stolen that way. I guess being bolted down would make it hard to steal too though.
@BendItFishing2 жыл бұрын
True. I know people take it off to fly fish off the bow

Did you have to drill additional holes for the quick release bracket
@BendItFishing Жыл бұрын
Only 4 or 6 holes for the mounting plate

Thanks for the video, Watched a few of these to get a comfortable feeling before installing. Guessing you've figured out that you can't connect to your Hummingbird. My understanding is that you need the i-pilot LINK version to do that. Unfortunately with the shortage, I haven't been able to find one at Bass Pro. Besides, your wife might have a kitten, they're about $400-$500 more that the unit we bought. Still haven't unboxed mine yet in the hopes a LINK model will pop up before I go to install.

Thanks for watching. I know they don't link and didn't think I would have used it till yesterday where I was trolling and it would have been perfect. Don't be scared to install. It's 4 holes that's it.

Nice Minn Kota. Did your remote work right out of the box? No pairing etc. Thanks, and tight lines.
@BendItFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yes right out the box it worked. The heading sensor needs to be paired but it's easy

I picked one up at Cabela's I paid the same price but is the heading Sencer supposed to be included or buy separate?
@BendItFishing2 жыл бұрын
Mine was included
@diceman2202 жыл бұрын
Why is that. ? Thanks for all the information.
@diceman2202 жыл бұрын
Due to supply shortages the heading sensor will not be included with some models. Applicable models will have a redemption form for this item to be shipped at no charge when available.

does it have to be in the ready down position for it to work and spin
@BendItFishing2 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Once it's out of the locked position you can spin it freely and turn it on. I use it that way in shallow water near launch
