My legacy Riptide Ulterra was stowed and would not deploy but the display showed that it was not stowed. I followed your instructions to release the switch and it will now deploy. Thank you for this video!

Thank you for the video, this will really help. I'm glad you got help from MinnKota because all they tell me to do is check my batteries. All I can say about MinnKota is that they don't stand behind there warranty.

This was exactly what happened to me. Off shore and could not deploy, said stow. This video solved my exact problem.

Thank you so much. Watched your video and had my Ulterra back to normal in 5 minutes. Apparently salt deposits build up in there. Also realized the mechanism can be freed without taking off any covers in an emergency. Just take a small pen, pencil or other pointed object from underneath and pull the switch free. Thanks again so much!

This was helpful. Thank you. When I had it apart and going through the deploy/stow sequence, I could see that it wasn't clicking into the correct position in spite of lubrication. I loosened the screw holding the spring in place by just a small fraction of a turn and it started working perfectly. Thanks again.

Mine pivots up but only goes down an inch tops. Is that the same issue because the deployment failure in this video was not specific? I would have tried this anyway but boat is an hour away.

I pulled the two side covers off and a dirt dobber had built a nest on top of the switch. I cleaned off all the dirt, sprayed it with WD-40 and everything works great!!

I just found your video and have a question. Where did you get the custom mounting plate that you used on your boat. I see two quick release brackets and what looks like one large mounting plate. WD40 has a spray with a protective coating, so after you clean the tabs and they are free with movement, you then spray where the tabs and spring areas!!! Heavy saltwater use will buildup on the tabs and spring areas! The WD40 coating is kind of oily finish so let it setup and DON’T touch it and it’ll work for up to 3-4 months before needing to reapply. Just keeping it sprayed down after your trip is really not enough, bc you can’t really get to those areas under the cover!

Good information I"ll go try this on mine. First let me say these things are garbage. I've had mine in the shop 4 times under warranty. Now I have this problem that it won't deploy and it's out of warranty. Getting really old working on this thing and having to take it off and drive 50 miles to get it worked on and then the minn kota guy is so backed up that it takes a month each time to get it back. Every time I go to his shop, he's got about 20 of these things laying around. Stay away.

@@uberfunday4477 Yes the green light does come on and not the red, but the remote says motor error. I'm hanging out on the support line right now I'll update if they can tell me how to fix it.

Very Helpful, thanks, but went though the whole process ; deploy/stow only to find the 'stow' stage turned the unit thought 90 degrees and jammed the power- head ie thrust motor into the retaining assembly? Maybe I'll try some other 'fix'....or some other video that might avoid a complete dis-assembly of the unit. Its got to be a malfunction of the auto/computer managed process in the 'reset' option on instructions . Once the computer takes over there's nothing to tell the computer that the power head has been manually rotated out of whack in the process of manually using the 'stow' option. and Maybe Minn Kota will explain what I've done wrong?
