Absolutely beautiful video of MSP! I think once the weather warms up a little up that way I hope to make a few overnight or 3 day trips up to MSP though 2020 to explore the airport and hotel on the field ( of course much of that will depend on the current state of affairs affecting travel... ). Thank you for producing this great video and letting us come along through the terminal! All the best from the west coast of Florida USA!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour! It's a great airport to transit, and everything I've heard ranks the hotel very well. You get great views of the field from there, and theres enough traffic that you can have a really great experience!

Both those places are in Hennepin County, MN. Mall of America is in the city limits of Bloomington, MN while MSP Int'l Airport is in what it looks like an unincorporated area of that county, but it's actually Fort Snelling which is an unorganized territory of Hennepin County, MN.

I used to live in Minneapolis and always enjoyed visiting my hometown airport, when traveling. This airport is clean, very efficient, and huge! Lots of choices when it comes to dining, shopping, relaxing, or just hanging out. MSP has all of the latest airport passenger technology to keep you moving, while preventing you from missing your flight. And the parking is indeed vast. So vast I have gotten lost trying to find my vehicle on a few occasions. It's always important to write down or take a photo of what row and level your vehicle is parked. The price for long term and short term parking is quite reasonable in comparison to other major cities. Additionally, the light rail station, at the airport, makes it extraordinarily convenient, when traveling to Downtown Minneapolis. It is quick, safe, clean, and easy. I hope you enjoy your visit to the Twin Cities

Hey, to correct you on the thing you said at the beginning about MSP being the third largest Delta hub. MSP is actually the second largest Delta hub by passenger count, after Atlanta. By size, however, MSP is in fact third largest like you said. Either way, great video!!

I'm looking at some inexpensive tickets but I'm worried about the short layover in MSP. I'll be arriving from CID so that sounds like concourses A or B. Then I only have 46 minutes to catch my next flight to Paris which would be concourse G. I'm somewhat handicapped and walk with a cane. Is that enough time to make my flight or does anyone have suggestions on how to transfer quickly?
@MilesByFoot Жыл бұрын
That seems short. If both flights are booked on Delta/Air France, *they* think you can make it, but that might not be the case. G and A/B are connected by a walkway, but the international flights usually close boarding 20-30 before departure. Even with a lift from a mobility cart, it'd be too close for my personal comfort. If they went the long way around, it wouldn't be great. This is a judgment call, but even a small delay departing Cedar Rapids would jeopardize the trip, and I personally wouldn't book an international connection that short, no matter the airport, airline, or circumstances. Just too many factors to work against for a pleasant experience.
@CamberRockerCamber2 жыл бұрын
Once you go past security, it's an awesome airport. Before the security gates, it's just the check in counters. Wish there were restaurants outside of the security gates. Would be nice to have a meal with your friends and family before they leave. MSP is the only airport I've been to that doesn't have anything restaurants outside of the security gates. Also, would like a better baggage claim/ waiting area. The current baggage claim area is so small and feels like a dungeon.
@MilesByFoot2 жыл бұрын
I've found that more and more airports are moving most or all of their services past security. Maybe it's always been like that and I've just noticed it more, but I like having something landside while I wait!

In April my Brother and I will be flying out on Delta for a trip to Las Vegas, is it safe to say that I will most likely be going to the far west side of the concourse for our flight? Would there be a way for you to know what gates they tend to use for this flight? Thanks!
@MilesByFoot3 жыл бұрын
The gates an airline uses depend on the kind of airplane used, but high-volume, daily destinations will generally use a handful of the same gates, or at least gates near each other. For those kinds of details, you can check sites like FlightAware (not sponsored) and search for the route. Right now, for example, that site has one of Delta's six daily MSP - LAX flights departing from gate F3. The particular flight I looked up is in the early evening, and it's departed from F3 for several days in a row, but earlier flights that day departed from F1, G11, F6, etc., so it's a safe bet it'll use that specific gate, or a gate nearby. The F gates are, indeed, on the far western side of the terminal.

I'm flying from SDF to MSP in 3 weeks and only have 44 mins layover in MSP to SFO. What is the quickest way to get from concourse C to F?
@MilesByFoot7 ай бұрын
There's a people mover to assist you getting from one end of C to the other. If you're way down C, towards the A and B gates, use the people mover all the way to the end, then hang a left. Go through the long hall with stores (I call it the Mall Hall in the video) and turn right to get to concourse F. You should be able to make the transfer in 10-15 minutes, at the most.

Nice review but the layout of this airport is awful. Concourses A, C & G are ridiculously long and have gates on only one-side. For connections, it's a miserable experience. The low ceilings also make it feel cramped and very dated.
@MilesByFoot3 жыл бұрын
Like many airports, MSP has had to adapt to increased demand without getting a brand-new, from-the-ground-up facility. I think they've done a good job of making it as easy as they can. No question that when you're under stress to catch a close connection, every workaround and logistical crack they've papered over, make it harder.
