This sequence has 3 major things 1) Excellent Music by AR RAHMAN 2) BEAUTIFUL VOICE OF FEMALE SINGER ..NITHYASHREE ( who was a newcomer for cinema music then) 2) ARTISTS featured. RAJANI.. and Dancer and heroine! ( Dancer lacked expertise in classical dance but she acted voluptuous and camera plus editing made her look like a big Dancer, which really she IS NOT. FILM DIRECTOR WANTED TO INCLUDE LOT OF GARBAGE IN THE DANCE SEQUENCE BY DUMPING NUMBER OF ARTISTS WHO PLAYED VEENA AS WELL AS DANCED...BY CHANGING ROLES😮

The problem is more than just "Lost in Translation" - there are cultural/heritage facets that is probably going above and beyond most.... especially foreigners. Yes, the movie's storyline also has a play here... but cultural/heritage facets... Bharathanatyam and Bharathanatyam costumes is one facet, Karnatic Music is another facet... the interplay - competition within Karnatic Music and how Bharathanatyam has to follow it although sometimes it has its own thing too. If anybody has been to a cultural show - they would at least know the basics as to what I am talking about - but only someone that knows Bharathanatyam and/or Karnatic Music would know the real basis as to what I am talking about.

There was this one interview of Kamal where he was talking about one of his interactions with Rajini, Kamal asked why rajini started doing more comercial films with only stylish characters ,why not do different character oriented movie with thespian acting per say.
