WOW!!! Detective Comics 73 is a true ghost. Extremely rare. Unbelievable to find that book in the wild. You have to PC that book. Sensational lot right here my friend. WOW!!! And for $4500👍🏾great job

I don't think you should restore that scarecrow book there's nothing wrong with it. Just do a clean and press and realign that spine and put it on in a slab and it will look great. You don't want to see that awful purple label on the slab.

As a big KISS fan I would’ve been most stoked about Howard the duck tie in! I have that Incredible Hulk 272 I didn’t know it was a key I found a ton of good books that I flipped on ebay but I kept a few also and that was one I kept!

I talked to Neal Adams at a con before he died about that 233 cover. I had heard he didn’t like it and he confirmed that. I asked him why and he said it’s because the right leg is too long and out of proportion. I never noticed because it’s a great cover but I also can’t unsee it now.

You can probably get that sticker off the cover of that Detective Comic with the scarecrow cover using isopropyl alcohol 99% on a tissue or paper towel. Just rub the sticker with the tissue that has the alcohol on it and slowly peel the sticker off. Hopefully it will come off without taking any of the cover with it ! You must be very careful doing it and very slowly - keep soaking the back of the sticker with the alcohol as you peel it off the cover.

Wild collection of books sir. I have only one single Golden Age book and I too am thinking of getting it restored. Thinking if Jerry the Jitterbug would help me on that one. Batman #50 that I bought with a pile of other silver age DCs for like sic bucks and yes, it included a Batman #181. Winning back in that day.....

Early issues of Tomb Of Shadows and Chamber Of Darkness have awesome art and adapt some great stories including by H.P. Lovecraft and Robert E. Howard. The Giant-Size monster issues like Werewolf By Night and Marvel Chillers are very hard to find and definitely worth keeping in the PC. Detective Comics 73 is insane, I have never seen anyone holding a copy either in a video or a real one at a convention. Definitely the highlight of the collection.

So I actually thought so on the top BUT if you look at the bottom there’s a lot of overhang so we think it was just cut wrong. Golden age books often have odd cuts and overhangs

Im quite new to the hobby both reading and collecting. Quite overwhelmed with watching a lot of videos where people kind go into dollar bins and pick up keys. I also am having the dilemma of should I just be picking up keys? or should I read first. I read digitally . So should I go about reading digitally and then if I like the series pick out the keys that I like and overtime I will build a wealth of knowledge of which books are keys ? and then will also have the ability to bin dive and find keys ?is that the secret?
