X2 was one of the best movies of it's kind during the 2000s back when I still cared about superhero movies. I think part of the reason why it was called X2 - X-Men United in the US is because about a decade prior there was another movie released here called F/X2 along with later in the 90s a TV Series based on the 2 F/X movies just called F/X and they didn't want any confusion.

It's so funny how some people recall what and where they first heard something. Or what they know it as. I'm pretty sure X-Men 2 was the original title. It somehow got shortened to X2 over time more and more. And the (United) was actually a tagline to begin with. Then it proceeded to make all DVD's and whatnot lol most overseas know it as X-Men 2 to my knowledge. Here in the U.S, we know it as United. But honestly, I just prefer X-Men 2. It's simple enough. The problem with Cyclops is that while Chris Claremont wrote the Scott/Jean/Logan love triangle as mainly being all Logan pining after Jean (and even had Logan fall in love with Mariko), a buncha Wolverine fanboys/girls wanted him with Jean. So, it keeps getting brought up over and over again. Jean and Scott were deeply in love, but many a fanboy writer and obviously some movie directors went with Wolverine getting the girl due to Logan's bigger popularity. So, James Marsden got screwed over.

The Last Stand was definitely a disapointment but it has one of my favorite casting choices ever! Kelsey Grammer as Beast. Ah when I heard he was cast I was sooo excited! Course then the movie comes out and was a let down. but Kelsey was fantastic in that! I do wish we could have had more Beast. I also wish they could have done more and done better with Cyclops.
