Here's a good one if you don't want to run or walk outside. Just walk up and down if front of the tv(this takes your mind off the exercising)I walk forwards and backwards(for 20 to 30 minutes)timesoon goes believe me!. Even with weights if you want. Also sit up and down from your sofa 10 to 20 times. Let your imagination run wild,there's all kinds of exercises you can do in the house.Walk up and down the hall. Just keep moving! I'm 66 and I still go jogging or walking in the morning at 6.00 am or 7.00 am in winter. Love what this man is doing. God bless you.

Excellent video and topic! Here in Germany, the majority of the population is "senior." Older adults who don't take care of themselves need home care workers and are often alone and probably lonely. I'm 64, and keep my body moving in many ways, including choosing stairs over an escalator, and carrying groceries instead of using a cart. Modern conveniences make us weak.

Hi! I too am 71, can't kneel with comfort (bone chips in knee). Been walking 4-5 x/wk for 2-3 yrs. Tried different exercise routines. Still flexible. But, having hard time building lost muscle mass in arms especially. Your exercise combo feels right. Your free instruction with no purchase of equipment is a God send. I like you, give freely of my time to help those in need. So now I am on the receiving end. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise expressed in easy to follow instructions. I'm a senior, 61, LOL. I've been very athletic since I was a kid and working out since age 13. I don't drink, smoke or anything else I shouldn't be doing. I was a boring teenage, LOL, but hey it kept me healthy. When I work out, I've never been winded, I have asked my doctor about that, and he/she tells me that it's because I'm healthy.

The good news for "older" trainers is that the heights to which they can go with workouts are mind-blowing, ~if~ they just keep at it. My Dad is 70 and no 20 year old could stay with him, unless they were in shape too. Gains via training have been seen in people in their 80s and 90s!

My knees make a slight noise when I do the squatting. I'm 61. I hope I'm not doing any damage. I tried jogging about ten years ago and the knees become somewhat tender/inflamed so I thought it best to stop jogging. I guess I'll just see how it goes with the squatting.

Yes good workout for senior people. Absolutely I will try this out for my additional workout as I’m been doing my yoga for exercise stretching. As we get older the joint become stiff if we are not mobilize on the joint then. Walking is the best therapy for everyday too. I’m stroke patient at age 45 and paralyze in 2012. I recovered the same year by changing life style, food taken and also being a vegan too. I’m glad I get over it at the age of 53 now year 2020. Thanks god. Aamiin. Just keep it up with routine exercise with walking and stretching. It’s really light up my day of life😎👍keep active.

The video is very good and useful resources of Excerise I rate the video above standard. Those movement that you was demonstrate Ryan,Practice become perfect, I just turn 58 years and I Excerise on a daily basis jumping rope, Hula Hoops on my neck, take it off with my hands pass it from hands putting the Hula hoops under my two feet,I bend down lay my hands on top with my fingers tip on the ground for few minutes until feeling pressure into my legs.Another Excerise I lay flat on my back and do movement with my feet as fast as I can as if I am riding a bicycle. I also love walking long distance as Excerise.Excerise on a daily basis is very good and healthy eating habits, Drinking plenty of water.I just turn 58 years finishing raising Kids and I keep up myself looking good doing Excerise and eating healthy foods fresh fruits and Vegetables No red meat.God bless everyone stay safe and Be well.

Cathy, I am so very sorry to hear that. My sister had both L and S also. Sadly diagnosed very late.I will pray for you. Just try and do whatever exercises you are able to do. sitting in a chair and stretching. the most important thing about those conditions since they are autoimmune is diet. with S it may be hard to eat a lot of things you should because it can affect your ability because of little or no saliva. Try low carb, low sugar liquid drinks high in protein and by all means try getting your nutrition needed by using a bullet or ninja. whatever you do, keep sugar out of your diet as much as possible. We learned so much about these diseases, unfortunately it was too late for her.

Great video, I see a lot of workouts that say beginner and they have high impact moves like box jumps and I dont understand how these people writing these can call themselves fitness experts. You actually know what you are talking about and I appreciate that. Let me ask you a question. I see a lot of workouts that say use 2 chairs and broomstick but it doesnt seem like a safe or stable set up to me, what do you think of those exercises?
@MinusTheGym
@MinusTheGym 4 жыл бұрын
Anthony Carpenter thanks :) Yeah, a lot of fitness KZbinrs aren't educated in fitness. They're blessed genetically and use that to build an audience. Regarding 2 chairs and a broomstick: I used a similar setup except I bought a 1.5" diameter wooden dowel from the hardware store so it was thick enough to hold my weight. I also used it on across many surfaces; my dip station, counter tops and tables to name a few. It can work as long as you're very careful, but definitely not safe enough to recommend to everyone.

I have a different view on what training seniors should initially focus on. My opinion is based on my own personal experience. I do physically work for a living , but at 70 not working that much at all. I recently quit smoking 2 packs a day and smoked for 50 years. Also I have not done any exercise for 50 years. I did start walking 6 months ago and currently do about 4 miles two or three times a week. However, I have noticed a extreme loss of strength over the last several years. In some cases it is strength and flexibility. Or is it mobility? The "I've fallen and I can't get up" scenario describes 2 parts. In some cases you can't get back up due to the original cause of falling. But in others it is just that you are too weak to get back up. The ability to get down on the floor and get back up has become a major challenge for me. It is often required by my job. Most seniors are never put in this position so they don't know just how tough it is. So now I realize that full squats, sit-ups and arm and shoulder strengthening are for me the focus. Once I get to the point where I can get up off the floor easily, then I might try some cardio. And I should add, I am not more than 10 pounds overweight. Imagine how hard my struggle would be at 100 pounds overweight.
@dougmacqueen1679
@dougmacqueen1679 4 жыл бұрын
I should add to my prior post that I am currently doing 4 sets of 10 dips, 4 sets of 10 push-ups and struggling with trying to get some pullups down, yet it is still a big struggle for me to get off the ground from horizontal. So obviously the strength I have gained has not helped that much so I am obviously not hitting the right muscles yet.
