Neither of those are "self-destructive". Nukes are always for "killing the other guys"; not suicide, and (as pointed out in the vid) the fact that offspring eating (Filial Cannibalism) has survived in the populations implies there is a beneficial reason for it.

About freezeing food. Lalplanders used to store slaurgered raindeer on top of the roof. Birds eat the suet so the meat was lean when you took a part of it inside and using knife carved slices of it onto the pan. Even today in Finland raindeer is mostly eaten as thinly carved slices pan fried with smashed potatoes and lingonberries.

I once had a Hamster that we bought already pregnant (a female that was with the males due to misgendering. So we thought its a male hamster until she had her babies) and we were worried she will eat her young, but she made a nest in a hollow decorative item and slept in her cage (we then had to peave the door open all the time for her to provide for her small ones) and all 8 babies grew up well and healthy. After that explanation i guess she felt save and well fed in our care and felt confident all the babies will make it. Also we fed her hamster food that has insects (protein) in it, so her nutrition was in balance. No one cares about my hamster comment anyways so i add for fun, that until we bought that food she somehow managed ro raise her own little maggot farm behind the furniture to eat them. We asked why and were told she needs protein. This hamster was only half a handful but a full handfull to take care for, but her live in relative freedom (the entire living room was her playground) made her so charming and trusting and even responsive to her name. I miss that furball.

4:26 this still happens with modern freezers. Some foods do leak liquids when frozen and later thawed. But maybe this is because kitchen freezers are set at -18 °C by default, not -40 °C like, which is what industrial freezers for frozen food use according to the video.
