all tap water basically is most circumstances in most areas. A good example is that citys on a river are typically pull the drinking water from the river and treating it for us to drink and then treating the toilet water and dumping the treated water back into the same river, and so on and so forth for every city on the river until most of the water was probably in a toilet by the time the river gets to the ocean.

I am about to go through my first colonoscopy tomorrow. Having learned about poop pills and fecal transplants in college courses, I was surprised that as a new patient at my gastroenterologist showing symptoms of extreme inflammation, my doctors didn't request a stool sample to test my gut flora. They instead asked me about my symptoms, drew blood, did a colon exam, and immediately scheduled me for a $500 colonoscopy to check for Crohn's Disease. I would like to assume as professionals they just know more than I do (I just have a B.S. in general biology), but it really didn't sit right with me that they didn't even consider sampling my gut bacteria before leaping into an expensive procedure.

$500 for colonoscopy? In what kind of 3rd world country do you live? After hitting head hard against concrete in biking accident I got xray, MRI (Or was it CT scan). I walked out of hospital the next day. I didn't pay a cent.

The aquarium poop transplant is actually pretty common among hobbyists! Using "dirty" filter media from an established tank to jump start the beneficial bacteria colony is highly recommended. Using plants and small organisms to create a more stable ecosystem is also on the rise!

I lived in Toowoomba, Australia at the time of the debate for recycled water. That city at the time had three big food processing plants and it was feared that people around the country would not buy their products that might have come into contact with recycled water. Also, the government screwed up by claiming that recycled water was 100% pure, which is outright wrong (and possibly a lie). They then had backtrack and change the wording to something along the lines of "meets government standards".

So, we and other animals pee and poop on or in the ground, plants grow out of soil containing that poop, they sublimate water on hot and/or sunny days, which forms into clouds, which eventually rain this water down into our reservoirs which we then drink.

Somewhere in the 80's, Japan (scientists maybe) came up with an idea to use poop as a food (snack). Its sterilized, dryed and shaped like a craker and some into chips. As you know Japan are very inventive and oftenly they came up with a bizarre idea. And sometimes it works. But for this Poop craker, it doesn't work. 😅
