Thank you very much for this very high quality tutorial! Marl Lewis gives the tip to hold the (Svengali) deck of cards on the long sides when the spectator is to cut the deck, because then the spectator must cut on the short sides.

Great advice at the end. I’ve messed up on that. As soon as I showed all the cards the same they were demanding to inspect the deck. They wouldn’t stop talking about how it was a fake deck afterwards and took away from the other tricks.

good job . the key to remember is it's a utility deck . Sure , there's a ton of ways it can be used , but overusing it will definitely take away from its intended use. And absolutely correct about the last effect. Why in the world would you riffle and show all the jacks ? .. that's just like saying " here's how its done !! - aint i great? 😂.

Can you shuffle a mirage deck?

Yes! Just keep a firm grip while doing the shuffle and the cards will fall in pairs.

Svengali or Mirage Deck? Which one would be best for different tricks? Or perhaps another different deck?

Depends on what tricks you want to do. I personally prefer the Mirage deck but I do use Svengali for a limited number of tricks that require cards to be handled individually. My best advice would be to search KZbin for tricks that use one or the other to see their pros and cons and decide which one fits your needs best.

What if the person wants to hold the deck to check, what do you say to be non suspicious?

Nothing. If they ask to see the deck, that means you screwed up the presentation.
