This might just be the best brony animation I have ever seen. I really liked how she was hatched from a random egg instead of being the daughter of Discord. It makes things more interesting for Discord to not be the only one of his kind. Since she was hatched during an entrance exam, where is the Twilight to her Spike? There could be an Eragon reference. It would help explain why there are not very many draconiquus if her egg hadn't been hatched for centuries until that special pony came along to release her.

I'm glad you noticed all of this! The ponies collect dragon eggs for the entrance exam, but somebody snatched up this one not knowing what it was. There is a bit I cut from the original script where the pony that hatches the egg says, "Hey, you're not a dragon," and Mirage bites the pony on the nose in response. She's really mischievous. Mirage comes after Discord, so when she hatches, the ponies at the university freak out because they know what the last draconequus did. They send her to a magical creature research area to keep an eye on her. Think Fluttershy's Equestrian Society for the Preservation of Rare Creatures. The head researcher isn't cruel, but she sucks as a parent.

I’m sorry but discord is technically a chimera. A Draconequus is a horse and dragon hybrid. Going down this route is bad because it just makes this character that has a hole bunch of potential seem lazy and have little to no thought or effort put into her. Just please take into consideration about this. I’m not trying to slaughter your character. I’m just letting you know that this is just not a realistic option, and you should be more careful.
