I have no idea why everyone is talking about Whimsicott being a check to Miraidon just because it is grass/fairy. Just because it resists tera grass solar beam doesn't mean it doesn't still get 2hkoed by specs (never mind electro drift or even worse overheat). It only survives 2 if you use an assault vest and then you're using an assault vest prankster mon. Yes, it is immune to dragon but so is literally every other fairy. Edit: Yes, Sub+Protect Whimsicott can stall out electro drift and solar beam with perfect conditions (no hazards, no status, no prior chip). It is nowhere near reliable, as after smacking it with electro drift/solar beam Miraidon will just switch out and 2hko it the next time it comes in.

You can tera Fire It, and then either tera blast or flare blitz, Fire resist Fairy which he Is quad weak to, and It has the sun so water Attack do less damage

Miraidon is powerful, but not unstoppable. For one thing, its two STABs are entirely useless against Fairy and Ground-types. Predicting correctly is how you beat it - if it's Choice-locked into one of its two STABs (and there's a fair chance it will), it will have no choice but to flee from a Fairy-type like Flutter Mane or a Ground-type like Groudon that switches into the right move.

@@squiddler7731 To be fair, Orichalcum Pulse and Hadron Engine only give a 33% buff to their respective stats, and only so long as the conditions they set up are in effect, so if Kyogre were to come in on Koraidon, Koraidon would lose its attack buff since the sun would be replaced by rain. Admittedly, Miraidon doesn't have this problem since there are no other decent terrain setters in Ubers.

Miraidon is especially crazy because it's an electric type on its own so it on top of the electric terrain boost it gets stab on electric attacks, at least for koraidon it doesn't get stab, it is sometimes replaces by groudon as a sun setter and sun can be turned off by kyogre

AV, sounds like a waste. All you're really getting the ability to survive a solar beam and then if you somehow survive 2 ting is gonna use ruination on Miraidon. Specially defensive treads is a better check to Miraidon as it recieves a special defense boost in e-terrain and can set up rocks, spin or knock off.

Yeah I would recommend using AV treads because it has some good utility with knock off and volt switch. Pairing it will Pelliper gives you a decent voltturn core that checks Koraidon and Miraidon while also weakening Miraidon's overheat. Edit: don't forget to lower treads' defense ivs to 16 so that it gets the sp def boost from quark drive.

It gets around the same Special Defense compared to SpDef invest, but thanks to Electric Terrain, it gets to outspeed Miraidon, as well as some more offense stats and not being forced to drop your Physical Defense IVs. But yeah Treads is a big Mirai check and I love it lmao Edit: SpDef invest is also super viable if you need Stealth Rock tho

Tera Grass also helps against the many Earthquakes that it likely faces by making it resist Ground, while removing its Fairy weakness as well. Nothing without an Electric resistance or immunity is going to want to switch into it. This strategy would even obliterate a yet-to-exist Fairy/Ground type that would otherwise be a relatively safe switch-in.

Another side effect of the almost permanent sun is Flutter Mane remaining great Pokémon in Ubers due to there being pretty much no good Specs switch-ins, especially with the lack of any good Ghost resists (Arceus-Normal is pretty good but people would much rather use other Arceus forms like Ground and Fairy.)

There should be a "priority" AOE move that's the counterpart to gravity called anti-gravity that allows you to avoid all ground type moves and hazards for one turn. I mean priority in the sense that it activates before you switch out one of your Pokémon so Charizard doesn't ALWAYS need boots. It's even a great counter to earthquake, earth power, bulldoze, fissure, stealth rocks, spikes, toxic spikes, sticky web, etc. which helps a lot against Ting-Lu players and the rare Ribombee players.

Run protect Kyogre to counter this. Swap it in when there's a Miraidon vs Ting Lu matchup and make it rain, trapping Koraidon into now charging a solar beam and wasting their turn, then protect to nullify the attack. If they're Specsed they're now forced to switch because lol 2 turn charge solar beam against a pokemon with protect, and you have a relatively safe switch into basically anything. Tyranitar would work better for this, since that's all that Miraidon really has, but doesn't perform as well against the rest of Ubers.
