Well, watching you work have given me some insight on what it's like to be an artist. The hardships you face, the problems, the inspirations and such. And I really, not ironically, think you are a true artist. Even though you may have doubts about it, that only tells us you really are. And I really appreciate it, and it's something special to observe an artist at work, to peek in his creative process. Even your videos are very tasteful and interesting, not just 'here's this, here's that, look, I'm doing stuff' they have a unique style. I just can say: keep it up, and I hope you get famous (or if it's not your wish, just be happy and fulfilled). Sorry for the broken English, as you can probably tell from my name it is not my first language, and maybe I did not communicate my feelings and thoughts correctly, and made it sound awkward.

This was an awesome video! Loved it, and the idea behind it. Just as a note if you want to work with resin in the future, clear 2-part epoxy resin is much much easier to work with and you can just pour it all in one layer, too. Resin is always tricky. When it's used to create rockets (like Xyla Foxlin does), in creative projects (with Evan and Katelyn) or tiny art projects (like the ones by Ben's Worx) There is no creative KZbinr out there that didn't had issues with resin. Don't give up, you've saved your project pretty darn well. There are resins specifically made for deep casts, that avoid the problems of witness layers, but they are even more expensive.
@makeshiftminis90902 жыл бұрын
Sometimes the project doesn't go the way you planned and you have to roll with the blows as they come. It's part of creating things and more importantly art. Mistakes can be irritating setbacks but they're also learning experiences. It's always important to not to get discouraged when problems come up. Sometimes you make a dozen mistakes but at the same time you've learned a dozen lessons each one as important as a success.

Once I was painting my Ork Nobz and accidentally put a splash of white paint right on nobs face. I dont have a lot of tools and paints so after some measures this stain was still very visible. And then I just go with the look, drybrushing upper part of models face white and lower part dark green. With this "Isengard" look this is one of my favoret models now. There is no mistakes in this hobby, just happy accidents

Trying to get a decent resin pour inside a clear glass container is gonna be a shitshow about 50% of the time, it feels like it should be a shortcut to a decent effect but often it just makes things much harder. The long way to do it would be to do the resin pour in a temporary cylindrical container, cut it down on a lathe to exactly match the shape of the original glass lamp chimney and then polish it to a glass-like sheen. (That's also a cheat method for making a ship in a bottle. ;) )
