Great video dude! Also, you got any tips for practicing EWGF? I can only get it when I'm in practice mode and I take like 2 full seconds to process the input before executing, let alone doing it in the real match. Thanks.
@FahmiZFX7 ай бұрын
EWGF is all about burning that input into your hand. You just have to practice a lot. As long as you know *HOW* to get EWGF and not mistaking it with regular WGF, then all it takes is keep practicing. The easiest way to practice consistency is to set the dummy to "Block All" for both options and do it at the Wall. That way you can easily practice hitting EWGF freely and not have to chase the dummy. Here, I've recorded a video just for you, lol: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYSUdmaNpJuJppY

idk why but something about wavu on keyboard looks weird visually. On pad my wavu is way more smooth even though I can get the same speed
@FahmiZFX Жыл бұрын
There are like 3 main peripherals (lever, leverless, pad), and with any of them can be used in a different capacity and style. My old wavedash looks much more atrocious because I did it in a technical fashion -- which is just doing it and getting it. It looks twitchy as a result: Old video of me wavedashing kzbin.info/www/bejne/maOln3Sabdt6apI I changed my rhythm to simulate a lever player would. What you see in this tutorial here is basically me imitating JDCRs rhythm -- which is by doing qcf as fast as possible.
@mig.7460 Жыл бұрын
@@FahmiZFX so depending on the rythm you could technically make every wavedash look the same, regardless of controller? For example 'devilster' the keyboard/mixbox player, has a very fast and smooth looking wavedash, which doesn't look anything like the keyboard tutorials you find online
@FahmiZFX Жыл бұрын
@@mig.7460 Pretty much. My old wave dash was basically me pressing each input like in a uniform consecutive order, while now I would usually just tap forward for like a frame and instantly slide into a fast qcf motion.

I don't think there's any difference? The only difference is that Jin's Electric recovers slower on whiff compared to on block or on hit. You can't whiff EWHF willy nilly, gotta be careful with that.

@@FahmiZFX Apparently if you use a WASDbox like the Haute Board or mixbox, with tournament legal SOCD-N settings, you can hold down the left key with your ring finger and do the exact same thing you're doing here to do it in the opposite direction due to how SOCD-N works. By holding down left, you reverse all right controls to the opposite direction since it will turn all your right inputs into lefts.

Every time I try to do the wavedash fast my fingers stop pressing it in the right order do I just need to keep practicing it?
@FahmiZFX8 ай бұрын
Yeah. If you stumble on a certain speed and pace, tone it down a notch and do it on that speed that gives you consistency. Then if you feel like it and wanna speed it up, do a burst of just 2 wavedash cancels that's faster than the current comfortable speed. Just do it sparingly. Like during your wavedashing, at random times, maybe 5th or 6th time, turn it up for just 2 wavedashes and then go back to normal. example: fast, fast, fast, fast, faster, faster, fast, fast... Let those little burst burn into your your muscle memory. Eventually you'll do burst 3 quick wavus, and then 4, and then eventually you'll get used to the speed.
@FahmiZFX8 ай бұрын
The most important part is the qcf part. The Mishima wavedash is very lenient since you can do it also from dashing (f,f,n,qcf) or even running (f,f,f,n,qcf). Even if you are max range apart, during the moment you are running to the opponent, you can just simply do a qcf mid range and get a wavedash out.

Is it a bad idea that I play on keyboard with my pinky, ring and middle finger pressing on left, down and right button respectively? I just do not want my gaming habits to mess up my keyboard typing muscle memory with left point finger resting on F.
@FahmiZFX8 ай бұрын
If it's natural for you, then I'm none the wiser to say against it. Play what suits you and most comfortable with. Have you been playing other games that way too and no problems happening from it? If so, then you don't have a reason to change it. Although I can say for certain that Tekken is rather tax heavy on movement, more so with an archetype like Mishimas. If you're new to Tekken, I don't think there's much harm yet since you'd probably taking it slow from the get go. But as you progress, you will certainly start to do movement a lot more since neutral play in fighting games is important (for weaving in and out and creating opportunities to bait your opponent or dodging attacks). So, I can say is that -- if it doesn't hurt you yet, then stick with it. p.s Also, I see that Anti Mage picture profile -- I just wanna mention that I play Dota 2 WASD and Edge Pan turned off. Why? Because I'm used to it because of playing WASD in every other games before it.
@imfinishedgrinding6388 ай бұрын
@@FahmiZFX Playing Dota, yes I seem to not feel much strain though I have been playing like this for almost a decade now and it's also in my favour that I don't play high APM mechanically demanding heroes all that much, but for playing fighting games like Tekken and GG I find that it puts strain on my fingers whenever I play for too long. Practicing KBD and wavedashing and anything demanding a lot of movement screws over my pinky and ring finger after long sessions. I suppose I just have to build more finger dexterity and endurance for it.

I don't think there's an SOCD variant for wave dashing, lol. I think you mixed this up with backdashing which does have a SOCD variant (can cancel backdash recovery with forward) Wavedashing doesn't have any opposites to cancel each other -- as even if does, it is counter intuitive to the principle of wavedashing itself: which is to reach the opponent faster.
