A TEKKEN 8 ranked gameplay analysis of Reina vs Lili. I don't dive too deep onto the matchup, but rather how we can adjust to the player in order to bring back lost games. I also addressed the plugging issue that's been circling our community, and will hopefully encourage a more positive mindset towards the game. Thanks for watching!

Great video man, very well explained and love the training tests you do at the end to try alternatives. Fighting games really are in a league of their own for video games. At the higher ranks you really have to be on your game - Focused, in the moment, relaxed, a game plan that can be flexible to what the opponent is doing. That flow state where nothing else matters except the immediate moment. Idk if this sounds dumb but for me it has actually helped me find that flow state at work and in other parts of my life too. No other game pushes you to operate like that, there is just something to consider constantly in a fighting game. Really is a special thing. Focus and being in the moment is a skill to train and fighting games help tremendously with that, at higher ranks at least when you're forced to optimize those aspects or lose.

Oh btw, exiting HW from backturn ive found d,f into wave dash and then just immediatly blocking is the safest option, depending on the situation. d,f 1,4 makes you airbourne and covers quite the distance if you have loads of space to work with. Attacking from HW backturn is something i have yet to figure out xD.

I think i went from lacking patience to lacking conviction because im trying to learn a different style. I deranked from battle ruler to mighty ruler. But it’s fine because im learning something and trying something new that i learn from videos like these. :)

That’s the process of learning my friend, there is a sweet spot that is unknown to us, so we aim in a direction and learn how it works. Often we aim towards impatience at first, learn how it works, then re-calibrate and aim towards a lack of conviction. We then re-calibrate again and aim back to impatience-but not as far. Each time we re-calibrate, we get closer and closer towards that unknown ideal. It sounds like you’re on the right track, keep at it brother 👊

Defaulting to instant timing is a lack of patience. Defaulting to delayed timing is a lack of conviction. Observing your opponent and making appropriate timing reads is some good ass tekken. My gosh. That hits hard

"Every doomed game is an opportunity for a heroic comeback"... can confirm, I've had at least two of those comebacks from almost 1 hit left of health. Patience and good opponent reading are the best tools, especially when they start rushing you because they want you to finally lose. They get more confident and sloppier when they think you're done... use that against them!

Tekken 8 got me to fall in love with fighting games all over again. I kind of lost interest in Tekken after Tekken tag 2. I lost interest in street fighter after sf5 and SF6 was still disappointing due to a focus on diversity and toxic western ideological themes while charging u for character skins that kind of sucked. Mortal Kombat has been a tragedy since mk10. Tekken 8 brought all the fun back. Also really love this channel for supporting players that want to learn the heihachi way
