This has been, and will probably always be, my favorite song from MMI and i had the privilege to learn the intro from jared directly during a private drum lesson. The man makes it so seemless and it took me over a month to get it down perfectly.. the song sounds harder to play than it actually is once you get the grooves down and able to put them together

The chorus throws me through a wave of emotion. It takes me back to when I first discovered this band and how obsessed I was. At the time I lived with my younger brother in our own place. Here I am 8 years later, married and one kid.. and he's no longer with us. I'm grateful for music like this, because it gives me a little chance to be back in that stinky, run down apartment for another couple minutes. I love you, Tanner and I miss you so much brother.

this song opened so many doors for me when i was 13.... i remember i was listening to killswitch engage(i was raised by metallica fans so i had no idea any "screamo" type genres existed yet) which my uncle showed me like 2 years before and i didn't have a computer cuz we were poor so i sat at the public library using thiers and i remember just sitting there my mind blown as soon as i clicked this cuz the guitars were unlike anything i had ever heard and it was like candy for my young ears and as soon as the first scream came my little mind was absolutely blown into a million directions with this question n that wondering what in the sweet hell i was hearing cuz it was absolutely amazing and so much different from the high screams i was used to from guys like killswitch engage and ronnie james dio(don't judge i was 13 and learning and to my ears what killswitch and ronnie did were the same thing to me.. tbh i still feel it is cuz it has the same effect) what was this new thing? this angry new... form of violence! taking metal to a new level and i was so pumped and my mind was racing at million miles an hour and it was just a complete rush to my young head!
@dustancarpenter32619 жыл бұрын
k.... yes venom is metal... yes once upon a time metallica was better than miss may i but in all honesty if you've heard any recent stuff by metallica you probably hate them as people for ruining their own classics by adding piano and other bs...side note bthory blow... but this wether you like it or not is a form of metal

Fun Fact: The house in the video was actually the home of Joey Sturgis the guy who recorded this album. watch their studio updates and you will see that both houses are the same. the same blanket is used behind the drummer in both videos as sound dampening. also the kid in the beginning of the video is Joeys little cousin Michael. you would know that none of this is true and you can get anyone to read anything as long as you start it with "Fun fact".
