This is so metal. Loving the Lamb Of God and Killswitch Engage influences. Hopefully people learn to accept that Miss May I are becoming a more real metal album with every release, not one of these bands that revolves their music around autotune and programmed breakdowns. Don't get why people are complaining about the vocals either, they're raw and metal as fuck. The kind of vocals you hear from the likes of In Flames and Lamb Of God. Can't wait for my pre-order to arrive!

the mixing on this album is great, there's no problems with it. there is less post production with the vocals and drums, which sounds a lot better, personally i think it sounds better. there's also only so much you can do with "metal" lyrics.

Miss May I have wanted to have this thrashy sounding more classic Metal type sound for a long time. They finally managed to get the producer they wanted - the guy that produced many Pantera records so the production and influences were different for this album, hence the change in sound. Plus... Let me break this down to you... Besides that the lyrics are nothing special (generic as shit), besides that the structure of the song is like every other; did you even notice the CLEAN parts? it sounds so horrible since it's tuned as hell... it sounds like someone put a whole editing software in Ryan's throat!... this can't be called music or even Metalcore anymore... autotunecore most likely fits more... insert name here So basically what you broke down there says that there is no music outside the metalcore genre. That's pretty lame to say. The structure of the song is good, and there is nothing wrong with writing some catchy riffs. While the main structure keeps the modern sound, the chorus riff goes back to old school thrash metal. Get your head out of the sand, there is more about music than just screaming and yelling how sad life is.

I still have the rest of the album to listen to, but I have to be honest to say I like the old Miss May I better so far. I do respect the fact that they are trying new things though and sometimes thats a good thing. At least this isnt "What if I was nothing" by All That Remains. Its a decent song but thats just too much of a change for me tbh. All in all, I cant wait to listen to the rest of this album see what I think.
