Such a great video. At first I didn't understand why the active site moulding around the substrate lowers the activation energy. Then when you said it makes it easier to brake into the products, which requires less energy, made it make so much sense. Thank you for this video.😄

Miss, which exam board do you teach? Are all you vids suitable for snab?

Thank you very much for this video , but I want more details about how to change the structure of the enzyme in the active site in the Kochland model induced fit . I mean how to change the sites of the acids amino to obtain a three-dimensional structure for structural integration with the substrate material. I searched, but I did not find sources on the internet.

both lock and key and induced fit models are accepted models, and there are papers to show that both models are represented by different enzymes.

Hello, Thanks for highlighting this. My videos link to the AQA exam board and so follow what students need to know for this.
@fatims277 ай бұрын
miss, could you explain how come in the induced fit model the substrate bonds get weakened which causes the activation energy to be lowered? im finding it a bit hard to grasp the correlation between the two (the bonds being weakened which causes the activation energy to decrease)
@MissEstruchBiology7 ай бұрын
the active site moulding around the substrate puts tension of the bonds in the substrate

Aren't enzymes specific that's why the induced fit model isn't accepting 🤔🙄
@jennipherchanda62662 жыл бұрын
Accepted*
@jamiefrancis37582 жыл бұрын
@@jennipherchanda6266 They are specific. The induced-fit model doesn't change that. The enzyme is able to bind the substrate but the slight change in the shape of the active site is what causes the reaction, otherwise, you would just have two molecules binding together. The active site is technically complementary to the 'transition state' which is where the substrate is at its highest potential energy to react.

I thought the substrate was the one who change it's shape slightly 🤔
@MissEstruchBiology3 жыл бұрын
Hello 👋 its the enzyme that slightly changes to fit around the substrate to put a strain on the bonds so less energy is needed to break the bonds on the substrate.
