So lucky that they found him after 2 years! Bear looks like my baby Bernie, he's a full Saint Bernard and he is a rescue, I've had him for 10 years now and feel so blessed . Those freckles and those eyes are just like my Bernie. Hope he and his family are doing well.

What a beautiful dog!! As a dog sitter and dog owner, I cannot even imagine something like this happening to a client. I would go insane looking for their dog. I already worry so much that I attach an apple tag to each dog when we go on walks and even bought Easy Walk harnesses of each size to avoid dogs slipping from their collars (it only happened once - I almost had a heart attack - so it will not happen again under my watch). Peace of mind knowing I am doing my best to give them back safe to their owners.

Just an added note... When you microchip your pets you need to go to the website and register it. it's not automatically registered with your information. If you don't physically register your info, when or if your dog gets picked up and gets scanned there is nothing showing who they belong to or how to get ahold of the owners.

It is surprising, or maybe not, that so many dogs run away from a pet sitter’s home. I think they go looking for their “pack.” We have had many cases here.

What is it with these pet sitters that they cannot keep a dog safe they are getting paid to take care of these animals and I’m sure they’re getting paid good money. Why can’t they take care of these dogs? This is ridiculous. They should not be pet sitters if they cannot take care of these animals properly that is ridiculous.

Yeah I only have adults I know really well, family or close friends, dog sit for me.

It's possible the dog may have been mistreated by the sitter and ran away.
@doodles307517 күн бұрын
@lauriepolden6594 Sometimes dogs panic , when they do its like they are blinkerd. It doesn't matter how much you shout at them to stop. They will just keep running. I've had it myself. My late step dad was being helpful oneday and took my dog along with his down to a field we went to every day. My dog was absolutely fine for about 15 minutes, then panicked because she thought I had left her as she couldn't see me. She just ran and ran until she got home. I was just very lucky it was a 10 minute walk up the road. This was a walk we did together EVERY day, it does happen. I've personally had it with a gun going off in the next field, my boy( a rescue) was virtually home before he stopped panicking( he was petrified of fireworks) you don't expect fireworks to go off in daylight, but other things sound similar
