I'm currently undertaking a 10k training series, working on my 10k anaerobic fitness to try and improve my 10k time and kick start my 2024 year of running with a new PB.
In this vlog I take you with me on a 10k tempo workout, this time a 3x 2k session to test myself at around threshold pace.

Pre-session I had the aim of running the 3 reps at around goal-10k pace (4.00/k-4.05/k or 6.26/mi-6.34/mi). My tempo workouts are usually my last workout of the week, so did I manage to hit my goal times?
I really am enjoying the structure and variety of my current training. I am loving that I can focus on each individual run, not worry about what's next, and give each workout the attention it deserves. Also, the variety allows me to mix up my running from the easy running, to speed work intervals, to the long run, to a fun tempo session.
I'm about halfway through my Mission 40 training now, 4 more solid weeks of training and then I will see what my legs can do in a solo time trial. Look out for more weekly recaps and training vlogs dropping over the next few weeks, and follow along to see what time I can achieve at the end.
Will I fail yet again at the 10k? Will I finally start to feel more comfortable and confident at the distance?
This Sunday I will be at the Run Oulton Park Festival pacing the 50-minute 10k for RunThrough. It looks like a great event with 5k, 10k, HM, 10 mile and Marathon events all taking place! That race day vlog will publish next week.
