Hi, Casey: Since 73 I've amassed around 3 million miles trucking, and one thing that's always been in the foreground of my mind is weather. If it looked iffy, I would have been the one to sit stuck with frozen brakes, and broken equipment, not the dispatcher in his warm cubbyhole, and 8 hour workday. I've pissed off more people than is probably believable, but didn't have accidents, or unwarranted breakdowns brought on by weather. I never allowed dispatchers to push me to do things that were illegal or potentially dangerous, and boy oh' boy' they know all the tricks. Anyhow, you're doing just fine, and speaking bluntly-- when it's called for-- clears the air for all parties involved. Michael Rzewuski

You were so right to not do the tow. We've been on that road many times but not in the snow. It's a bugger even then. Glad your home safe and sound.

Good call Casey. You don't have to risk yourself or your equipment for somebody else's problems especially in deteriorating conditions. Heck, when I worked in rigging, we would call off an outdoor job if a drop of rain hit a fork lift because we did not want the liability of the customer's equipment sliding off forks. Customers got over the delay and if they were understanding that we caring for them as much as us, they would call us back for another job. If they were mad and didn't call us back, then we did not want them as our customer. As another Oregonian KZbinr would say, "Keep up the good work."

This one is the opposite of the one a few days ago where the trucking company had a mechanic there to free the brakes up and had truck ready to roll along with another driver with plenty of hours left to get the load where it needed to be. Good call, too dangerous and too cold. Money doesn't buy everything.

On of if not the BEST video you've ever posted great call you made the right decision. To the others talking smack this man happily wasted half of his day he could of made different $ but he did the right thing and tried. Not to mention wasted appreciate $300 to $500 on diesel and factor in hours/wear and tear on his vehicle. Please don't change a thing Casey you are then beat creator on the platform. Me and my friend and many work friends appreciate your content. Small work shop and all 16 people love your style and content

Casey has been mentioned several times amongst people during my travels around Oregon and Washington. That's pretty good considering how many people I talk to in a day. I'm a regional container hauler using a rollback freightliner and travel all over both states.

This winter in Idaho 9 snowplows have been run into. Some plow drivers have had to go to the hospital. If they can’t avoid a moving snow plow a stationary tow truck would be easy to hit.

Funny thing as your haters suggest they can do it with a Honda lol. Even in Canada as long as the truck isn’t blocking traffic from moving the tow trucks aren’t sent until the weather is over and it’s safe. Only when it’s blocking the road and even then there is more than one DOT and back up equipment to help. I’m astonished that the DOT even asked if you were going to try. He should have said let it sit himself. I wouldn’t want to be behind that semi with that pickup. That truck lets loose both semi and tow truck would squash him on the way over.
