(Digging for compliments here) Hey Casey! Juuuuust wondering 🤔 How’s your winch-line doing after those hard winchring pulls? How was it not worrying about the line falling out of the groove or slipping between the cheek plate and pulley and causing an even bigger problem? Awesome video dude!!! Thanks for all you do!

I hope he’s got a few friends that know a little bit about wrenching….I know for sure 4 good sized guys could lift that bed off and 6 can move the complete cab….if he pulled the doors and seat out they might even get the cab with 4 guys. Honestly he could even just do the cab and run with that bed for now if he had to, it’s awful looking but would be perfectly street legal. IDK why but I’m really invested in hoping that kid gets some help and gets that pickup on the road again, maybe it’s because I had a few minor F-ups that could have easily gone just as bad as this did if I was 30 seconds later, 2 feet closer, going just a little faster, etc in my old pickup when I was his age.

If this is an example of how you are going to be able to feature sponsorships, bring them on! We already know the abilities of their products, and you are proof positive that they hold up in various environments, and you don't beat us over the head with it in how you present it to us. You were about as far from a commercial as I think someone could get, yet still made mention of their product and the honest fact that they were sponsoring this video - very nicely done!

Our Willamette Valley forest service roads are treacherous. Off-camber for drainage, clay, with a layer of what we call "snot", jellied clay on top of concrete hard clay, with zero traction. It gets better later in winter, when the rain does it's cleaning job. These roads catch the best timber truck drivers. 👍😊

I agree the only one I’ve seen that might be better is one of the last recovery’s that Ron Pratt did with his father before he passed they went miles back in the woods to recover a stolen rental vehicle it was a suv of some sort and it was stuck and they needed to turn it around and get it out of there and all they had was their side by side utv with the winch on the front which was under rated for the weight but he hooked it up with extra pulleys and reduced the load on the winch by reducing it down so for each three feet of cable the winch brought in the vehicle only moved one foot

I've been driving a 5spd manual for over a decade and only owned two vehicles in that time. I like driving manuals and definitely like driving them when loaded and pulling a loaded trailer. Can stay in the gear i want when going uphill without losing momentum, unlike an automatic. Plus, stay in a lower gear going downhill and not have to use the brakes to keep the speed down. I know some automatics have a manual gear selector, but i don't have any experience with them, so i don't mess with them.

You and me both although I've never had the misfortune of having to drive an automatic semi tractor. I have driven 4+4, 5+4, two speed axles, 10, 13, 15 and 18 speeds and a logging truck with a 5 main and a 13 speed auxillary. That one was fun. I've heard too many stories about automatics to ever want to have anything to do with them. I have driven heavy equipment with automatics though too.

I bought a Setpower fc20 back in August because of the video you showed your camping setup, I got tired of dealing with ice and water on a trip in late July early August and went and bought it because of you having used them.

That truck is definitely worth rebuilding. I want/need that truck. Kind of surprised that that young man realizes what he has. I wish I was closer that would be a fun project.

Building the wheel-lift truck into a recovery rig makes excellent sense!! The lift can give more stability for winching too!

Said it on the short, but a floor jack and 4x4 post with a sledgehammer could easily get that back into shape to hold glass and straight enough to be a box again. My father use to do a lot of those types of repairs back in the day cause it seemed every one was rolling there trucks and just needed to keep the weather out. Floor jack on the floor and 4x4 post as a extension and slowly work it back up in a few spots and with pressure if theres any outward buckles a little love tap with the hammer and let the tension do it job. 🙃
Simple recovery turns into serious Search And Rescue.
