During the beach fight scene, there's a shot of the knife stopping just short of Tom Cruise's eye. That was real. Cruise insisted that a real knife be used so they attached it to a carefully measured cable to achieve the effect. As dumb and bad as MI2 is, details like that are still worth appreciating.

I know this is literally 3 years late, but I finally decided to watch the MI movies and listen to these reviews along with, and wanted you to know that the blonde henchmen, who has a south African accent in Sydney, is literally played by a reasonably well known Aussie actor. They have an Aussie actor, in Australia, playing a South African... 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unpopular opinion: MI2 and 2Fast might have bad dialogue and useless moments with ridiculous plots but still are at least watchable which is why I watch movies. As long as a movie keeps me entertained for an hour and half it passes my threshold unlike IMO pretentious moviegoers who seemingly rate movies through a checklist
