The opera house scene might be my favorite scene of the movie (that or the car/motorcycle chase). And my favorite shot out of the entire film is the shot where we first see Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson's character), which her leg propped up aiming her gun at the guy she was there to assassinate. No, it's not just because of her great-looking leg, lol, but the way that scene is framed and her character's firm stance, plus the fact that she's enclosed in this cage-like structure, show that this woman is strong, mysterious, and deadly. So much was said about her in that shot. I also love the shot when we first see her walking up the stairs in that yellow dress.

Luke Randhawa Girl Crush on Rebecca Ferguson/Ilsa Faust character!!!! Rogue Nation IMAX has brought me back to the MI series...I gave up after MI 2, never saw 3 and skipped Ghost Protocol. For me, Rogue Nation is a bit like Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd/Eva Green but obviously, not so tragic (avoiding death). Only thing is, I want Ilsa Faust to RETURN and team up with Ethan Hunt. Yea, I give this movie 9/10 - excellent movie.

The pacing was great, I didn't even notice the movie was over 2 hours. I walked out looking at the time like holy crap that late already. The cast were delivered perfect performances. I agree with John my only gripe was the lack of explanation as to the end game purpose of the Syndicate... and to nit pick the absence of Paula Patton but, I have a slight feeling if she comes back for the next one they'll do a quick update on where she has been which they usually do. 9.5/10 for me. I saw Rogue Nation today and I thought it was pretty entertaining, but not the best movie of the summer. I kinda think that all the hype and amazing reviews for it made me raise my expectations a little too high that it took something away from my overall experience. The action scenes were the best part of it though, and Tom Cruise's stunts were inventive, daring, and so much fun to watch. The rest of the characters too, especially Ferguson and Pegg, were fantastic as well. However, the story and plot twists were sorta hard for me to follow at points (particularly with a "disk" and Ferguson's alliances) and I don't know if it was just me, but I felt like Cruise didn't get enough opportunities to actually show different emotions and was simply a guy who gave smirky looks and quippy remarks (This is where MI3 was better for me than Rogue Nation because it was more personal for him). I'd say it was definitely worth seeing in the theater (especially for the action sequences), but overall not as good as MI3 and maybe a tad below Ghost Protocol (Still a toss up between it and RN). Will probably round out my top 5 favorite movies of the summer (Behind Inside Out, Ant-Man, Avengers 2, and Mad Max 4). I give it a solid 7/10.

I love opinions in movie land. A lot of people hated MI 2. MI 2 is the first movie that I saw in the theaters and I loved it! But hearing you talking about why you didn't like MI 2, with talking about the series (whitch I saw a few episodes of), I like were opinions come from.

I can neither confirm nor deny that I enjoyed this movie :). No, seriously, I really loved this movie. While Ghost Protocol felt more like an action-adventure, this one felt more like an action-thriller. A bit more tension built up. Which one I liked more... I'm still trying to work that out. I do wish Jeremy Renner would have been given a bit more action (especially after all his action scenes in Ghost Protocol and the Avengers films) and I agree with Campea that the Syndicate seemed to lack some sort of end-game. Other than that, though, I really loved this one. 8.5/10

With confidence, I can state that Rogue Nation is my favourite movie of the year so far. All the elements of what makes a good movie were orchestrated and executed brilliantly. Definitely my fav summer movie of 2015! What I liked: the incredible car chase and motorcycle scene, that the movie was a "suspense thriller" as much as it was an action flick, Rebecca Ferguson's character, how twisted Lain was (when he rubbed his hand on Rebecca's face ahh), and the incredible stunts by Tom Cruise. What I didn't like: they recovered way too quickly from the car flipping over so many times, the end scene was a bit underwhelming (where Lain was chasing Ethan) compared to the other action sequences, and why were the goons shooting Ethan at the end when he just made it clear that he has all the PWs in his head? Lol. Gripes aside, fantastic movie.

Really enjoyed this film, 8.5 for me. My main gripe with the film was that multiple times throughout there were sequences that reminded me of other scenes I'd seen elsewhere. Can't remember every instance, but, for instance, the bomb scene reminded me of Sherlock. Not that those scenes weren't done very well in their own right. A couple other nitpicks were I kept trying to place who the villain reminded me of & my vantage point was not very flattering to Alec Baldwin. Having said that, also the most fun I've had all summer really enjoyed it.

I'll give a 9/10. This movie has more intensive stunts like what the franchise did in the last film. The performances of Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson were fantastic. The action sequences were great. Sean Harris was good for being an intelligent villain, not a badass type. I want to see more of the cast like Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Alec Baldwin. Tom Cruise proves more that he is the greatest action star of all time than Liam Neeson. I can't wait for the next film to come out in 2017.
@Brook112239 жыл бұрын
I saw the movie today at 2:50 pm and I love it. This to me was the definitive Mission Impossible 2 film that should have happened. Rebecca Ferguson was the just incredible in this film and too me this was the breakout performance rather than Hercules. Even the actor who played the villain from 2012's Alien prequel was incredible. The action was leveled up to a whole new height. I think the action in this film was even more lethal than the previous films. Very brute force type fight sequences and Ferguson's Elsa Faust handled the fight sequence really well. The knife fight sequence between Elsa Faust and The Bone Doctor was very lethal which gave that sense of grittiness to it. The action sequence with Hunt tied up to a pole and then seeing him leaping up in the air trying to free himself was an awesome stunt. He is a true action star. He a man without fear a true daredevil. Tom Cruise is will to put his life on the line just to leave something incredible in his Mission Impossible films.

Really enjoyed this film. Loved the characters, loved the story and loved the action. My only major nitpick is when Elsa stands on the road to stop Ethan, who basically crashes onto the side of the road to avoid hitting her, i was just thinking 'why not just drive past her and brake?'. Apart from that, i really enjoyed the film.
@ilovelamp189 жыл бұрын
Great film. Really enjoyed the story and the villain's comeuppance. Rebecca Ferguson is gorgeous and deadly - she stole the show. I felt like this movie took a cue from the success of Skyfall and went for a darker more sinister tone but still remembered it was a Mission Impossible flick and always came back with great laughs and surprises. I agree putting the plane scene first was ballsy and showed how confident the filmmakers were with the rest of the movie. Few criticisms/nit picks- Jeremy Renner should have had someone to fight. More Alec Baldwin. Could have shaved 10-15 minutes off the film. Ving Rhames looks old and fat and shouldn't be in charge of guarding people- Rebecca Ferguson just slips right past him at one point. Tom Cruise needs to come up with a new face to make during a joke scene other than a "shrugs" type face. Other than that loved the action and nods to the previous films. Overall 9/10
@radiobroog80919 жыл бұрын
Yes, I agree with everything you chaps said, but I have to say I feel Rebecca Ferguson was a huge part of the success of this film. I also agree with the overall notion of The Syndicate being underdeveloped--it kind of had a HYDRA motif going on! Overall though, it also felt like a Spielberg (in his prime) flick in a way, so seamless in all ways! 9.5!

I'am ready for Mission Impossible 6, maybe this time they have full use of the IMF, no rogue and let's see what happens! All I can think is how will they top these last few movie's and what clever way will Tom Cruise come up with stunts to top movie's 4 & 5! So many get action pieces after the plane stunt! Who knew how great they would be! I hope to be like I thought he couldn't top those stunts but I got a feeling he will suprise us all again! We'll be like damn, Cruise did it again! Go back and watch his filmography and there are only a few duds in the last 20 odd years! He's selective and passionate, there is literally no other actor right now that you can say that about! Great actors like Pacino, De Niro, even Bruce Willis, they just phone it in these days, it's sad and has now tainted a once perfect career! The day Tom Cruise makes straight to DVD release is the day cinema dies

I think I need to watch this movie again. There were two points in the movie where I was like "that doesn't add up", so I'm wondering if I missed something or if there really are two holes in the movie. I can't remember the first thing, though it was during the opening sequence the awesomeness of the scenes that followed aborted the negative thought out of my head. The second was when Ferguson took out the Bone Doctor, but then stayed behind as though he wouldn't know she attacked him. I also gave it a 9/10, but if these problems turn out to not be problems on a rewatch I'll probably change it to 10/10.

Kit Games I believe she just snuck the key to Ethan and he knocked out the bone doctor before he ever saw Ilsa attack any of the other goons. I'd give the movie 9/10. Great story and Great action scenes. Rebecca Fergeson was a badass in this movie, and in no way was she ever portrayed as a weak female character. The humor was spot on. The first main gripe i have is the villain isn't very well developed and there isn't really any back story to him. Other thing I have is that from the trailer i thought we'd get more backstory to Alec Baldwin's motivation to dissolve the IMF and more screen time, but there wasn't. Still an awsome film though.

Went and seen it in IMAX today and it is very good. I'd give it a 9/10! It's hard not to give it an A for what it is. A few things that bugged me are how obvious Ethan was disguised as Atley and no mention of the Monaghan and Patton characters. Rebecca Ferguson is so hot, and she does resemble Emily Blunt as an action star. I was even thinking during the movie how I'd love to see Blunt cast as her sister in the next one Hahaha.

So many positives, so the negatives I got whilst watching: For me the scene where she saved Ethan the first time was a stretch. It so happens the only guy they didn't apparently kill who could blow her cover was the guy Ethan kicks out at the start of the fight, who proceeds to sleep through he whole thing? I didn't buy the 6 month gap they did in the context of the Opera scene. Why wait that long to have a scene for her to 'prove' herself as loyal after helping Ethan to escape 6 months before. Like surely she's murdered plenty of people for Lane in the interim to prove her loyalty? ..that's about it.

I really liked this movie! My only nitpick was the CGI. If a movie has a ton of CGI, such as Guardians of the Galaxy, I can forgive a few shots for not being marginally believable, but the CGI in the underwater scene, and with the car flip just wasn't very good and kinda took me out of the movie. Otherwise, a great film.

I haven't had an unpopular opinion for a mainstream movie in a while, but my feelings for "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" was that it was.... okay. I'll clarify by saying that there's nothing really bad about this movie. In fact, it's the most well-plotted entry in the franchise. But my problem with this film is that the action sequences and overall narrative didn't stand out all that much to me compared to what came before. Rebecca Ferguson is definitely a worthwhile newcomer to the franchise but she wasn't enough to get me fully entertained by the movie. I don't know, it gets a lukewarm recommendation from me.

I just saw this movie last night and I really enjoyed it, I would give it a 8/10. However I still enjoyed MI: Ghost Protocal a little more then this one. Rogue Nation had great action sequences and good pacing. Unfortunately there are a couple things that took me out of the movie for briefe moments. First was when the side door opened on the plane where he was holding onto. He then smacked his head really hard on the inside plane wall. It seems like that would have hurt him really bad or killed him. The 2nd one was when he crashed the motorcycle and whiped out pretty hard with out a helmet. Again he would have been incredibly injured or killed. Other then that I enjoyed the movie!

Saw the movie yesterday and I loved it. Tom Cruise proves again why he is still the biggest movie star an if Marvel does an old man Spiderman movie, he's the one. Pegg and Renner had more to do and the inclusion of Alec Baldwin was great. Ferguson is amazing.

I think John was a little more forgiving of the villains' aim in this movie than he was in his Tumblr review of Daredevil. I enjoyed the movie, but I did find it a little silly how Ethan never got hurt considering all the times he was shot at, and crashing a motorcycle with absolutely no protective gear.

Mad Max still number 1 but men this was a good movie, the motorcycle chase, girl action(no...not that kind), money shots were all tag with the "Wow factor". A little bit light on the story..kinda like a rehash of M:I-4 - agents go rogue to take down a turncoat - 9.1/10

Cruise isn't an action star. he's a dramatic actor who's very athletic and can follow choreography set for him.
